nothing special or new in this topic. just that i know a scout for the eels, he told me that riddell wil definetely be the starting hooker next year, doesnt know about morris...maybe 5/8 but not definite. parra are going to persist with witt at halfback. and apparently brian smith told jamie lyon in front of the team that he missed a few tackles that cost them the game (not sure which game). but if he cant handle that critisism than he is a joke.

Welcome pazzaeel.

I heard Johnny Morris being interviewed today on radio (2SM) and they asked him about next year and he basically said that he's not too sure where he will be playing yet as he hasn't had a one on one with Smithy about it yet but basically the two options are he plays 5/8, or Riddell plays in the back row and he stays at hooker. He said either way he's excited about next year and about playing along side Riddell and the other new buys.

My personal opinion is that it's pretty much definite that Morris will wear the number 6 next year and Witt will wear the number 7.

Put Johny in #7 and put the world on his shoulders and watch him step up and take responsibility.

We dead set need a half who wants to take the game by the scruff of the neck....and we need someone to drill it into whoever it is that they are in control....Brett Finch has stepped up and the Roosters - he's younger than most his teammates, but he's obviously been given a good talking to about taking charge....Brian needs to give Witty or Johny of whoever and big gee up infront of the team and tell em all to follow their lead regardless or watch from reggies.

Welcome pazzaeel,

Look our buys look good, but my concern is that will they all be fully fit next season. Tahu and Morrison are currently injured, Stringer has only played a handle of games this season and Riddell needs to get fit to be an 80 minute hooker, but maybe thats Smith's main reason for buying him, to keep him fit. That leaves Chad Robinson who's a good player and play in the back row, I think he'll do well at the club.

As for Morris, I always thought he was a better player at 5/8. He offer's a lot more and goes well in attack. Hope he stays there.

Welcome Pazzaeel.

The game Lyon missed a few tackles in would have been Round 1 against the bulldogs. I was there and Lyon had a noticeable shocker for someone of his ability. (Sure the whole team were poor, but Lyon's defence stuck out for me.)

Killer had already decided on his way to the grounnd in round 1 that he was going to give the game away.....thats why he played bad...his heart was elsewhere.

Yeah Sterlo, through the wonders of broadband I just watched that in the Footy Show segment on Lyon (interviewing his manager) that aired on Thursday before Round 2. (I missed it originally being somewhere in NZ.)

Makes sense now as to why he didn't play to his usual excellent level in that game. They have a fair few show segments up at http://footyshow.ninemsn.com.au/nrl/vault.asp, including the Hindy appearance.
