A few thoughts

I am not a fan of Brian Smith, and i believe the wrong team was chosen for last nights game, but it wouldnt have mattered who was chosen last night we would have lost comfortably with that amount of dropped ball on early tackles.Whether this big man policy is right or wrong it should not be changed now,if Brian believes it to be right it has to be given an extended trial.Unfortunately all our eggs seem to be in one big basket.(will the easter bunny deliver? only time will tell.)My thoughts on Brian are that he has lost touch with rl today and needs a break from the game for a few years,i still think he has plenty to offer to rl.I was told by a saints supporter back in 98 that we would never win a premiership with Brian,at the time i argued against this idea, but i now believe it to be true. The teams preparation for the 01 gf was all wrong and showed on the night. The use of the interchange is bordering on amateurish and shows no flair at all.His penchant for personal favourites(wags, kusto, herron and anyone associated with saints etc) and his falling out with some,(schifcofske, simon etc) is bordering on childish.I do not understand why he has been telling anyone who would listen about his big man policy, although it is obvious he has put much more pressure on the players with all the media waiting for this to fail,i think in the past he has handled situations like this ie players debuts well by not naming that player until 1 hour before kick off therefore deflecting the medias scrutinising.Wags at 5/8 should never happen again(didnt we learn this last year)he is as creative as a blank piece of paper and passes like a volvo driver(never).Replacing a small man at fullback because he cant tackle with another, i do not understand.I have heard Witt had a shocker in reserves but i believe he should have played last night. If bs is trying to protect him, Witt has shown last year when thrown in the deep end he can keep his head above water and then some.On a happy note Grothe was great last night, previously his involvement like his father is sometimes lacking but last night he went looking for the ball and did the tuff stuff,I still have concern on his reading in defence but it is great to see him back where he belongs.

I'm sure a lot of people will echo those sentiments.

Some good points, Although I don't agree with all I agree with most....
Witt wouldn't have made a difference last night. If we had fielded 20 men it wouldn't have won us the game. If you can't hold on to the ball then how are you to score points?!?!?! Everything the doggies did worked!!! They were awesome!!!! (Yawns... It actually became boring)
And replacing a small full back with another who can't tackle????? I defended my Hodgo the whole way last season, The fullback is the last line of defence..... If they are constantly required to attempt 1 on 1 tackles (Successful or not) then thats an indication the boys up front arn't doing there job.

Flair off the interchange disappeared with Solomona....
