Have you ever been in a position where your in some club and your dancing on your own and only a few metres away is great looking girl/guy [what ever you prefer] and she/he is staring at you with those "come f**k me" eyes, then 30 seconds later she/he moves towards you looking like she/he is just about to embrace you, then suddenly she/he walks right past to the person next to you.

what the hell am I getting at?????

for those who listen to BSB on 2KY would know that the phantom siren rings with his rumours which generally come true!! well this morning he came on at 5 to 9 to reveal to very big rumours.

1] Fatty Vautin will no longer head the footy show by the end of the year.

2] Willie Talau will sign with Parra by the end of June!!

I thought this fantastic!! however 1 minute later Tallau's manager obviously listening to the show had rung up to completely deny it!!

right then I thought half our centre problem was fixed only to be told it's still a major worry.

I think I'll go back to work.

I wonder how the June 30 tampering rule works for English Super League players. If parra arne't allowed to speak to anyone before June 30, it could well be that Willies manager rightfully would ring up the show to deny any talks. Maybe just wishfull thinking on my behalf. I would love to see someone like wille T in the number three.

Tying together another rumour though......

I heard that we were linked to Frank Pritchard for next season. Don't know how true it was and am taking it with a grain of salt.

However, last Friday's Western Weekender (a penrith newspaper) had a report on the back page about a young penrith backrower, who the club were desparate to tie up for next season, without luck, as there was strong interest from another club.

It went on to say the backrower had rep player 'stamped on his passport'.

Can't see how that piece is referring to anyone other than Pritchard, who would be a gun signing.

June 30 deadline is not in place in England - only relates to players off-contract in the NRL. They ESL season is winding up? so he could be looking at coming back for the off season.


I've heard that the Pritchard deal has been done for some time.....

Problem is! Willie Tallau has a contract with St Helens for 2 seasons, he wouldn't give up that sort of dosh to play for a struggling club.

I think as we approach the "deadline" we should create a sticky thread regarding rumoured signings so we all can all dream together!!

I take your point Strider! but if we label the thread "Contract rumours ONLY" it elliminates all that other crap we hear about, besides I don't give a toss who's missus is sleeping with who, jus who will be playing for who.

But in saying that you could never take any rumour as being fact until it's confirmed so if your stupid enough to get excited about a certain playing rumoured to be signing with us, you shouldn't read them.

but it does make for great reading. in any case.

I'm not a big fan of rumours myself but in regards to the Pritchard thing I remember reading something last year that we were allegedly interested in him but that his contract ended this year - I think that he may have even sought a release.

The thing about the Pritchard rumour is that people now seriously think it will happen - even if there is nothing to it.

THEN if he decides to re-sign with the Panthers cos he's got mates and they offer him enough cash etc etc - never really wanted to go anywhere anyway.

So how would people react to that "Its Brian Smith's fault - no one comes to this club - he scared him away"......I can dead set see reactions like that, rightly or wrongly.

So a trivial rumour gets out of hand.


But yeah - I am like the next person - want to hear what's going on with our club - just trying to filter through to what seems like reliable stuff.

This has been said for the last few years running. It seems like people will continue to spout it untill they eventually get it right, & inevitably they will. Not sure if it was last year or the year before but the rumour also had a certain R. Hadley as the new host. :roll:

THat is how the likes of Hanley, Offiah, Edwards, Currier and co used to come out here back in the 80's-90's. Once the British season had wrapped up they'd come and play over here for some of the 2nd half of the season and into the finals.
