A sobering statistic

I thought I would do a comparison of this years side V last years side after 12 rounds.
I also thought it would be favourable to this year team.
Seems I was wrong, whilst we have a few more wins, niether our attack or defence has changed much.
Whilst our position on the table is slightly better there are some worrying stats.
After 12 rounds last year we had 3 wins, and had 2 byes for 10 points
After 12 rounds this year we have 6 wins, and had 0 byes for 12 points
Now for the sobering stuff
Our average points per game for and against 12 rounds last year 21.8 for and 25.8 against.
Our average points per game for and against 12 rounds this year 22.1 for and 26.5 against.
Now it is not all bad, by the end of last year it was 20.7 for and 29.3 against, which is a lot worse.

As a comparison the grandfinalists of last years were
Panthers 27.3 for and 21.9 against
Roosters 28.3 for and 18.5 against

So although to me we seem to be travelling a tad better than at the same stage last year, statistically we are not.

It was about this time last year the crap really hit the fan, and things just went from bad to worse, this year however team harmony looks much, much better and I would like to think that the statistics will start to show this also.

I think we would in the main like to think it will improve as we can all see there is improvement left.

In the mean time I just sobered up.
Thoughts?

I think the difference is that this years team will only get better where as last years team could only get worse. Look at last night, Noddy had a quiet game and our best attacking weapon did very little, but we still won by 20. As Noddy would say, we're going good.

Could those statistics for this year relate more from the first 5 games where we played crap and had plenty put on us

We are doing the little things really bad but still winning the games. I reckon things can only improve, at least we aint parra supporters.

Our defence does need work, and if we can improve on this area then the points against should start to reflect this.

I can still see plenty of improvement in our team this year and we will show a vast improvement on last year

Those statistics are all well and good Mr Angry but the important thing is the 6 wins, not the for and against. We have 3 more wins than last year and that is a 200% improvement.

oh god i love this

Get your dog out from under your desk and put some pants on, you pervert. Can someone call the RSPCA?

Back on topic, I would've thought three extra wins and a brace of byes up our sleeves is a good thing?

The for and against is an issue. We are currently sitting on 12 points, equal with the Dragons and Canberra. That means we are equal 8th on the ladder, until for and against comes into it.
Then we are 141 points from being 8th. Not great.

I'm happy with how we are going. Getting better each week will do me just fine.

And Jimbo, that's GOLD!
