A sobering thought

We have one of the worst completion rates and yet still have the best defence and one of the best attacks. Considering we have had lots of injuries and have played all the top teams this is all the more impressive.

I hope I haven't put the mocka on the boys!

Dice do you know if the completion rate is a result mainly due to errors or an early kick? I'm not sure what our error stat is overall either.

Mainly mistakes. Even in the games we have won in the last few weeks we have made a heap of mistakes.

I don't think we have been kicking early much this year compared to last year. Tonight being an exception.

Well it has been impressive start to the season and to be on the top of the ladder before origin after playing all the top teams in good form and with most of our stars missing (referring mainly to Wingy, Fitzy and Cayless)

Great effort Roosters.....

Dice its the only thing thats let us down against lesser teams like Pemriff. Imagine the hiding they would get if we actually completed better? Imagine the hiding they will get at Panthers later in the year?

Melon, it wouldn't have been a hiding but it would have been a lot closer. Same deal against the Broncos.

IMO, I can't see us thrashing the Panthers later in the year as Sticky won't make the same mistake of playing his aces before the semis. The round 20 thrashing of Panthers ultimately cost us the GF. I notice we haven't reused some of the success plays against the bulldogs. Sticky is saving them for a rainy day :)

Against the Panthers it's not our mistake rate that swung the match, it was theirs.

I believe that their whole rooster gameplan is based on possession, deprive us of cheap sets and we struggle. We try and bash them senseless, which we may or may not do, but we don't force as many errors from them in the process.

If both teams are up to top form, it's tactics like this that can swing a game.

Can someone clear this up for me - my understanding is that kicking early in the set does not constitute a mark against in the completion rate stats, only mistakes. I.e., if Finch kicks on the 3rd or 4th tackle, it is still counted as a completed set, however if Finch knocks on on that tackle, then that is obviously an incomplete set.

Can someone confirm - appreciate it! 8)

Yeah, I wasn't sure either. Don't think some of the commentators are aware either. Freeman was waffling on about how only one set had been completed during one game, but Finch had put in an early kick in two subsequent sets.

But he hasn't mastered the physique of Fibro yet. He hasn't got the big beefy 24 inch biceps, the tree trunk thighs, the rippling 6 pack or the back you could land aircraft on.

and he hasn't mastered having a blown mind every time he sits at a computer...dashed - never thought of that...

I wonder if Finch drinks "shirley temples" too because I reckon that's all our good man asbestosman could handle - besides himself...
