Players to be trained for crises
By Steve Ricketts
March 6, 2004

AT least six senior players at each of the NRL's 15 clubs will undergo leadership and mentoring programs aimed at guiding young players in the wake of the Bulldogs crisis that has clouded the build-up to the season kick-off next weekend.

The NRL Board yesterday accepted recommendations from its education and welfare committee aimed at beefing up the code's player-education initiatives.

All officials and coaches will be required to attend NRL education courses relating to community standards, racial vilification, sexual discrimination and harassment. An expert in gender studies, Professor Catherine Lumby, will act as an adviser to the game.

Argh.. Catherine Lumby is the director of my uni course and one of my lecturers. I hope the players are careful, she's one of the biggest feminist nazi types imaginable.

Oh, they're just great, arent they? Everyone loves that sort of feminazi bullshit!

There's a lot of that feminazi, man hating shit going around, particularly in academia. More often than not theyre old, rug munching dykes too. They're so wrapped up in their hate-filled little bubble that they dont realise they are entirely irrelevant.

It's about time something like this was done.
I used to work in a Leagues Club about 10 years or so ago and we had any number of players working there as well.

We used to hate being in the bar if the players were working because you could be sure they wouldn't do anything other than play "hilarious" practical jokes on the girls behing the bar. You know, stuff like when one of the girls is crouched down filling one of the fridges they turn around to have the player's nob staring them in the face. Or being hit over the head with it. I've done that stuff a million times with girlfriends, but wouldn't dream of doing it in the workplace and to a relative stranger.

Howls of protest were met with the usual "you love it".

Complaints to the management always fell on deaf ears. Can't upset the football club or the players.

Having said that, these guys were in the minority and there were players who were great to work with.

And you call yourself a nice person! How can we claim you as our minority token when you won't even go to the functions.

You should have been out there telling all the single boys about SS and promising to introduce them to him if they come to a home game. :D

 I'm over the Mardi Gras. It's the same every year. the same people, the same floats. That surely doesn't make me any less of a nice person though. :)
