A wasted season

We still need a halfback and Witt is not it. I don't doubt the kid tries hard and has passion but with the players we have we need an organiser and a playmaker. He is neither of these. Looking back to the late nineties we didn't have one (excluding John Simon) but we had something better back then, ballplaying backrowers and a solid defensive line. We were told that we were too defensive to win a premiership so we went out and bought / kept ball runners, but we lost all out playmakers. Witt would have really good back then because the playmaking pressure would have been lifted and he could just scout around the ruck looking for his backrowers to create for him.

But now we need a real traditional style halfback.

I don't really agree with the releasing of Dykes and Lex but at least I can respect them for the way they left, unlike one certain person.

but Parra's salary cap would have been improved by both getting released in particular Vaeaiki.

Wigan only went after Lex because they didn't get Gasiner and it was a month before that Parra signed Tahu.

So, they wouldn't have been over the cap with both Lex & Tahu signed as they were not going to assume that Wigan were going to sign Vaealiki.

Dykes was talked about leave before most of the big signings were announced possibly only Riddell was signed before the rumours about Dykes started, so I could see how his release was due to cap conerns but their is no way Parra released Vaealiki to get under the cap.

just when i was getting excited over our new signings for next year now im starting to not look foward to next year with loss of vaeliki and now dykes with no good replacements yet and while there still under contract. :?

im glad we pissed off Vaealiki & Dykes, they were holding us back, there form was not as good as it should have been, although i thought Vaealiki played well this season in his few games, but im not crying about his departure....if only Wagon & Vella follow suit
