Shit's going down! (Allegedly)!

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was questioned by police investigating a possible homicide in this town 40 miles south of Boston. A source with knowledge of the investigation said Massachusetts State police spoke to Hernandez on Monday and were interested in possibly searching his home.
Hernandez is not believed to be a murder suspect, according to a source, but a vehicle rented in his name has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation. The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Mass., reported on Tuesday that police identified a rented 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island license plates in connection with the possible homicide. According to the paper, the vehicle is registered to Enterprise and investigators were hoping to analyze it for fingerprints. A source said Hernandez's name is tied to that rental vehicle.
A jogger found the body of a 27-year-old Boston man on Monday in an North Attleboro clearing, less than a mile from Hernandez's home.
A North Attleboro police car idled in front of Hernandez's home on Tuesday, parked across the street from two television news vans. Yasmina Serdarevic, a spokesperson for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, declined comment on Tuesday afternoon when contacted by SI.com.
A source close to Hernandez acknowledged a connection between the player and the case, but would not elaborate. Athletes First, Hernandez's agency, declined comment when contacted by SI.com. Hernandez has consulted with a lawyer, who did not return a call from SI.com.
A fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft, Hernandez was named to the Pro Bowl in his second season. Last season he caught 51 passes and scored five touchdowns for the Patriots.
Shortly after 7 p.m., several police cruisers arrived at Hernandez's home and one blocked the driveway.

Isn't it funny how the NFL seems to be teflon like with all the player scandals? No matter what happens, people still watch and play the game regardless of player conduct on and off the field?

It would be great for the NFL if Gronk and Hernandez had issues, because for once, just ONE season as an NFL fan, i'd like to know what a season is like when the Patriots stink

.

can't believe he kept his nose clean so he could get the big contract, then as soon as he gets it he somehow gets involved in a murder investigation. crazy.

but then ray lewis didn't have any problems beating a murder rap. and the nfl turned him into a hero.

i'm guessing hernandez will be alright.

Yeah as long as Brady is there, the pats will be strong.

But I'd be surprised if Hernandez misses much, if any, time

Lawsuit: Aaron Hernandez shot man

Embroiled in the investigation of the shooting death of a man near his Massachusetts home this week, New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez also is the subject of a civil lawsuit alleging he shot a Connecticut man in February, according to court records.

Odin Lloyd, 27, was found dead Monday evening about a mile from Hernandez's sprawling house in an upscale subdivision in North Attleborough, Mass. Lloyd was shot, sources told ABC News.

Lloyd's body was discovered in a clearing near John Dietsch Boulevard, not far from a vehicle that had been rented by Hernandez. Police have ruled Lloyd's death a homicide.

Police said Wednesday that Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend and that authorities are trying to reach that woman because they are concerned about her safety. Lloyd's family says he had connections to Hernandez but hasn't elaborated.

At least seven state troopers on Wednesday searched both sides of a road just off the street where Hernandez lives. The officers used thin poles to pull back plants and search through undergrowth along the road two days after a body was found about a mile away.

Police, who searched Hernandez's home Tuesday night, executed a search warrant Wednesday for an Enterprise rental car that was leased by Hernandez. That was the car near Lloyd's body.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a silver mirror cover believed to have been broken off a vehicle and might be visible along a route of travel between Dorchester, where Lloyd was from, and North Attleborough.

Hernandez returned home Wednesday afternoon, declining to speak to media members.

"It has been widely reported in the media that the state police have searched the home of our client, Aaron Hernandez, as part of an ongoing investigation," read a statement from Michael Fee, an attorney at Ropes & Gray. "Out of respect for that process, neither we nor Aaron will have any comment about the substance of that investigation until it has come to a conclusion."

Meanwhile, New York attorney David Jaroslawicz told ESPN's Ed Werder that he represents Alexander S. Bradley, the man who claims he was shot by Hernandez after the two argued upon leaving a Miami nightclub in February.
Jaroslawicz said Wednesday that he filed a personal-injury lawsuit on behalf of his client, but that the suit was withdrawn because of an inaccuracy. A corrected version was to be refiled in Florida federal court later Wednesday, Jaroslawicz said.

Jaroslawicz said his client has been a friend of Hernandez for several years. The lawyer said Bradley spent several weeks being treated at a hospital and has endured several operations with even more necessary to repair damage from the gunshot wound.

The original lawsuit, Jaroslawicz said, alleged that Hernandez shot Bradley in the face. The refiling contends that Bradley was shot in the arm, but the bullet traveled into his head and caused damage there, including the loss of his right eye. According to the suit, the two had an argument in a strip club and later, in the car, Hernandez pointed a gun at Bradley. The gun went off and Bradley was hit.

Asked whether he has a police report of the incident, Jaroslawicz declined to provide information. According to USA Today, his client was in the hospital for weeks and, "I'm sure the police were there."

A spokesman for Miami-Dade police told USA Today that he was checking to see whether a report was filed.

A police report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff describes a shooting incident involving a man named Bradley on Feb. 13. The sheriff's office deemed the case inactive because Bradley refused to cooperate. Hernandez was not named in the report.

Hernandez is represented by the Athletes First agency, which said early Wednesday that it had no comment on the police investigation. His mother said by phone from Connecticut on Tuesday she had no knowledge of a case involving him.

In 38 games, the 6-foot-1, 245-pound Hernandez has 175 receptions for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns. He missed 10 games last season with an ankle injury and had shoulder surgery in April but is expected to be ready for training camp. The Patriots have not said which shoulder was operated on.
Last summer, the Patriots gave Hernandez a five-year contract worth $40 million, according to reports. The deal came just months after the team locked up tight end Rob Gronkowski through 2019.

Aaron Hernandez TE NE 5 Hrs

ABC News reports that Aaron Hernandez destroyed his home security system and cell phone.
Police are back at Hernandez's home Thursday with a warrant based on evidence that he destroyed the home security system, which included video surveillance, intentionally. Hernandez also handed over his cell phone to investigators, and it was "in pieces." Additionally, authorities want to know why a house-cleaning team was hired to "scrub" the 23-year-old's mansion on Monday. One police official says Hernandez isn't a suspect, but he "has not been ruled out" and is "definitely not in the clear." The tight end sure isn't painting a pretty picture by destroying what could be evidence.

A law enforcement source tells CBS Boston an arrest warrant has been issued for Aaron Hernandez on an obstruction of justice charge, and that it's possible it could "eventually be upgraded."

ABC News reports Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd. According to CBS Boston, it is "not yet clear" when Hernandez might be arrested, or what the charges could be upgraded to. Obstruction of justice charges would qualify as a best-case scenario for Hernandez considering the (supposed) details of the case, but most of the "facts" remain hearsay at this point. The police are doing their due diligence before issuing any charges or making an official statement. It's possible one or both could come Friday.

Two teammates tell Sports Illustrated's Greg A. Bedard Aaron Hernandez "got more brazen" after signing his seven-year, $41.115 million extension last August.

Worries about Hernandez's past apparently extended beyond his marijuana issues in college, with reports indicating in recent days teams were concerned about reported gang ties in his native Connecticut. "Brazenness" is certainly suggested by Hernandez's rumored/alleged pattern of violence this offseason. His NFL future is as clear as mud.

From Rotoworld:
A law enforcement official told the Boston Globe that 27-year-old murder victim Odin Lloyd was shot "multiple times" before his death in a Massachusetts industrial park.

"He was killed where they found the body," said the official. "He was shot multiple times." Multiple shots likely rule out a Jayson Williams-style accidental shooting, where Williams attempted to cover up the incident post-event. The same law official told the Globe that Aaron Hernandez continues to be uncooperative with police. He's expected to be arrested on obstruction-of-justice charges Friday, which could later be upgraded pending more evidence.
