A Dragons spokesman... (can't remember his name #-o ) was on fox sports news tonight and he said Gasnier has been fined by the club, and suspended from the dragons UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE :shock:

Does that mean they are going to suspend him for more than one game, for a bloody phone call???

If Gower can come back and have a sucessful rep career after exposing himself to a women in a pub then theres a serious problem if Gaz can't do the same after leaving an offensive phone message.

What he did was bloody stupid and couldn't have been worse timed but its also being blown out of proportion.

For people to be calling this a 'Sex scandal' is a bit far gone IMO...someone got offended by a couple of F words which I am pretty sure she would have heard and probably used herself in the past, how this warrants front page news, I have no idea.

Gower's incident, while more serious, did not occur smack bang in the epicentre of a HUGE effort by the league to clean up player behaviour towards women.

Also, Gower worked VERY hard to get himself back into the good books.

Look at Craig Field and McGuinness. One worked hard to make amends, one didn't.

One made it back, one didn't.

It's now up to Gas.

Yeah, well that may be the case. But he has not appeared in any negative headlines for his off-field behaviour since his 1998 effort, so if these poor, offended Penrith fans want to take their story to the Telegraph, I am sure it would make interesting reading.

I suggest, though, that as nothing has appeared in the media, then the said fans probably deserved a bit of a serve.

Actually in the case i heard of, it was alleged that he was complimented on acheiving Australian half back, and he replied along the lines of where were you when we were going good. garnished with obscenity of course. Too bad he said to a bloke who had held a season pass for many years.
I've grilled dragons players in the street and received less crap.

Then again, I have been at Kogarah to witness the venom with which Dragons fans attack their players as they leave the field after a loss. Maybe it's just that Illawarra Dragins players are taught to expect nothing less from their fans, so when they get 'grilled in the street' they are able to brush it off.

Then again, maybe they deal with it by going the knuckle on each other in the club car park. :shock:
