Blake green has won the South West Sydney Presidents award and the NSW Combined High Schools Val Lembit Trophey for most outstanding male athlete both which have been won by Ian Thorpe in the past.

A recent article in the Fairfield City Champion talks about Blake's achievments this season. He Captained the victorious NSW CHS side in this years national championships and was named most valuable player in the final. He also captained the Aus schoolboys and was again named most valuable player.

Australian Schools Rugby League president Bruce Wallace describes Green as the "finest Schoolboys rugby league captain I have ever seen"

In the article Green also mentions how it is excting being part of the full time squad in 05 and is training with guys he looked up to when he was younger. He also makes note of the intensity of the training and says he will take any opportunity he gets to play first grade.

He has also taken up a position as a development officer with the Eels junior rugby league program.

could he finally be the answer??...the club seems have shown amazing trust in the kid in offering a position of that calibre for someone so young, no secret that his looked at as a long term investment.

All I hope is that they let him develop at his speed and not at someone elses. For him to be given such a role at a young age speaks volumes for his maturity IMO. Very very impressed with him. I've sat and watched him train previously at Richie Benaud and he is always barking at the rest of the players. Time will tell and hopefully he can live up to the weight of expectation.

I have said many a time this Kid is special. I have seen Blake Green play many a time, and he is the complete player. I first noticed him at a Trial against manly this year at Brookvale he was a class above the way he did things. Blake and T Smith will be our halfs combo for many years to come if we take care of them.

would you completely rule out Marcus in the mix?

This is a great reasd guys and yes Colonel at his speed would be better.

Is it hard to compare his ability with any other players of past and present...I know it's hard to do but they are some pretty big wraps.

I wouldn't rule Marcus out but from what I've seen of both Green and Smith if they both live up to potential and Parra keep them then it will take something special to prevent those two from being the 5/8 and 1/2 for the next few years.

Always fancied him even when he used to play for the Hills. Ive seen him play since he was 14 and always hoped he would be our future when Parra picked him up.

:D :D :D

Sounds Good to me!!

So what do we do with PJ / Morris - Just abandon them again.

Moriss i don't think will be retained after this year. He failed at hooker lets see if 5/8 is his go. But the money he is on will make it hard for parra to re-sign him.

PJ is a Hooker he has said so himself and thats his specialised posy. he will be dynamic coming off the bench for Riddell.
