Adelaide Rams Bid

Would need a total change of commissioners and a total different way of thinking for NRl to put a club in Adelaide sadly. They have shown zero interest in SA or WA since 1998 and the only reason Perth is in the mix now is due to a State govt throwing big money at it and Vlandys lumping us with NS.

Never say never but there are no signs NRL has any interest in SA.

This is most ambitious administration since days of Quayle. To present it as anything but is just sour grapes.

i think its evident that perthwrongs isn't a rugby league fan. everything is posts is not only blatantly incorrect and wrong but 90% of it is anti-rugby league. he is anti-qld, anti-nsw, anti-nz and anti-papuan rugby league. anti-heartland. anti-tradition. if another expansion area looks promising he is anti that.

also Quale/arkos admin was good but they also miss-stepped alot. really over extended the comp & the game without having the right resourcing or business model to do so. love the vision, hate the execution. at least this administration understands it's limitations and arent over extending the game or its resources. shrewd business acumen i think.

Two types of fans: tribal ones who only think about their team. The other type are interested in what is best for game overall. Take guess which one red is?!

Regarding Quayle, league was doing great before superleague.

false which has always been masked by the on the field product.

in that regard the game was doing great but financially/tv deals/stadium conditions/attendances/sponsorships there were huge concerns. the bradbury report called for cullings all the back in late 80's/early 90s before super league was even conceived.

wests, dragons, souths, balmain, steelers, sharks and panthers were financially struggling,
raiders and broncos were massively over paying,
no genuine enforceable salary cap,
easts were in a whole before politis took over as chairman from 93 on wards
parra were in a disastrous state on the field but ok financially off it.
norths had cash but werent there on the field.
manly had rich benefactors. dogs were genuinely flying.

reds were $1m + in the red before 95 even started. crushers started operating at a loss. seagulls/chargers were worth nil and seagulls couldn't afford the licensed footy club anymore. cowboys struggled.

rugby league digest most in-depth, well researched and investigated podcast ever done on this time period confirms all this.

game was good on field, terrible off field. thats the truth unfortunately. super league for all its shit was created to rationalise and fix the errors.

It was Bradley report. Game was in better shape after it was released. Pay tv should've provided money to support expansion, but packer & Murdoch war saw money go to lawyers instead of game.

game was on the field, clubs weren't and wouldve needed clean out anyways. all goes hand in hand. slapping bandaids worked for 5-6 years sure but the bandaid wasnt going to fix the broken arm.
