Why the f**k we bat so long. 3 days (possibly with rain) to play 3 innings... Hmmm
All that work for a draw will suck

australia should declare & send india into bat at the start of play tomorrow. we might need 3 days (or close to it) to get the 20 wickets. if india get a low score in 1st innings, make them follow on..

Yep definitely declare overnight.

Even if we could enforce follow on I think we will bat again. Hurt India more and ruin their confidence should be the plan with a good first innings lead.

Want India to be batting last on this pitch.

Hoping next 3 days are all sunny.

I'm sick of some cricket fans in general who don't like Michael Clarke and bag him out at times.

What a champion he is! On and off the field.

Another gutsy effort today with his bad back.

Last night I personally thought he wouldn't bat today. But I should have known he'd bat today. What a courageous character!

to be fair we've only been batting for 4 sessions

they'll make up the lost time over the next 3 days (30 mins before and after the scheduled play time), I think we bat for an hour tomorrow just to really rub it in to them and then come out and skittle them.. if that were to happen the Indian dressing room will be a very sombre place

Should be sweet mate. According to the forecast, chances of rain for the remainder of the Test is 1/10 of f**k all.

Will Clarke field?

I suggest not, If Smith is second slip.....Twatto will demand first and be given it, then drop one.

He will be captain soon, if this happens.

I also request we put M Marsh in gully, the taller the better.

Some one set the field.

Give Smith 5 overs to reach 200

Agree.

Let him tee off for a few overs and really rub it in. Break their spirit (what's left of it.)

We'll need three days to take 20 wickets on this deck. I know the Indians have been varied amounts of shit, but we'll be relying on Harris and Johnson to take most of the wickets and even they'll struggle to get anything useful out of this pitch. Lyon is not a day 5 bowler and Siddle will tie up an end at best.

Siddle could well do well, he's a much better bowler in Aust conditions, and at the end of the day pressure and patience will be key here - Johnson (if he continues) will be dangerous, but short spells... Harris also I am assuming can't bowl huge overs, and I am not sure Lyon will trouble them - except that they will be intent on dominating him.

Given the attack, I wonder if declaring now is the way to go, if you do manage to get through them, it might make sense to have a short bat anyway, just to rest the quicks?

Just play normal for the first 45-60min. Our run rate is 4.30, so we should get 50-60 runs without going the tonk. Declare as soon as Smith hits 200 or get out before hand.

Its only a small thing, but id like us to declare rather than be bowled out

Lets see how India bat (and how we bowl) for a couple of sessions before we get into the doom and gloom

Indias pace attack performed like B graders. They bowled way too short and too wide all innings. They dropped mountain of catches as well and an easy stumping to get Smith.

The light roller is out there. India have always had a bizarre fixation with the light roller, seems like they'll have a bat.

To be fair, he has given people a lot of reasons to dislike him in the past. There's no denying he has shown tremendous class and heart over the last 2 weeks and in this innings.

I'm not slitting my wrists yet. Adelaide isn't the "road" that everyone believes it to be, a result is very gettable. I've acknowledged the Indians were rubbish with the ball but our guys aren't going to magically extract anything significant out of the deck. It's still the same pitch.
