Awesome.

I think that was the same game that Morley laid out Awen Guttenbeil with one of the biggest hits I've ever seen.

The most fearsome defender I've had the pleasure of watching.

Is this the same game as Awem Guttenbeil decapitating Ned Catic??

On Paul Atkins, he came from nowhere to get a game. Honestly didn't even know he was in the squad. Had no idea who he was. One thing I will say about him is he put it all on the line with his kick returns.

That was the year before in 2003.

Morley's hit was a revenge shot. He let Awen know it, too.

One thing that's not noted in that video. Atkins returned another kick kamikaze style. Got belted again. But it was quite inspiring. His reward was he was never picked again. You can teach a lot of things, but guts to put everything on the line, literally everything, is a character trait. He's possibly my favourite one game Warrior of all time. Can't believe he never got another shot after giving it everything.

There is something tremendous about a winger/fullback who is just happy to run the ball back at a million miles an hour and take whatever punishment is possibly coming their way.

If Daniel Tupou ran as hard as this bloke he'd be f**king unstoppable

Quite certain the Awen hit was in 2004, and the revenge shot was 2005
You could well be right. The memory gets fuzzy more than a decade back!

I thought it was a great video btw. Atkins is a top bloke and a bit of an inspiration for youngsters who dream of NRL careers, however don't quite make it; but go on to make a great life for themselves with a job they love.

"One of three brothers to parents Velda and Clifford (Cliff) Atkins, Paul was considered the least favoured child of the three for the majority of his adolescence. It wasn't until his elder brother, Kurt, decided to see the world that Paul's ranks within the family rose. His younger brother, Ryan, whom many now consider to be the idiot of the family, idolises Paul and has on his life time bucket list at number 1 that he wishes to follow in Paul's footsteps some day.

More recently, Paul was asked to M.C. at his brother Kurt's wedding. Although Paul is a well-educated individual, some of the big words that he chose to use on this day left the majority of the attendees scratching at their heads and asking "what the heck is he trying to say"? Needless to say, the M.C. honours got palmed off to his younger brother, Ryan, who performed one of the worst M.C. speeches in New Zealand wedding speech history."
