African Players in the UK

This may have already come up at some stage prior so if it has please just redirect me, but I was wondering how many African heritage players are currently playing in SL, NL1 and NL2?

I would presume there are probably 20 or so, but would be good to get a list of names and the origins of the players.

The players I can think of off the top of my head are:

Joe Mbu
Jude Chuckwu
Dennis Tufour
Ade Abesi
Ade Adeyrie
Lucas Onyango
Yosuf Sozi
Bolu Fagaborn (sp?)

Manly winger Gideon Mzembe was born in Zimbabwe. A number of the English players would be of Nigerian descent.

Will Sharp of Harlequins was born in Nigeria. There may be some at London Skolars, as there is quite a big black/African community in that part of London.

Without wanting to make generalizations, I think to be honest the majority of African players we see will be either playing for Harlequins, Skolars or originate from around the London area. There aren't all that many African descent families living in the North, the majority of ethnic groups tend to either be Asians or Eastern Europeans.

Fiji Bati there are 2 playing for Tweed Heads you probably remember... I cant remember their names....

Last year both their second row were from Africa... one from a white family from Namibia or Zambia i think, and the other from Uganda.. i think:sarcasm:

Selasi Berdie - Tweed Head Backrower - Australian born with parents from Ghana.
Chris Enahoro - former Souths Nrl second rower now with Tweed Heads - half Nigerian.
Adam Mansy - Tweed Heads backrower - Egyptian origin

National Youth competition (Under-20s)
Allan Heldsinger - Roosters winger - South Africa.
Jamal Idris - Bulldogs centre - half Nigerian.

There are also a few good junior players around.
