What a f**king joke. I hope he cops it from the crowd in SA.Akhtar earns recall
SportalPakistani selectors have given controversial speedster Shoaib Akhtar an international lifeline by adding him to the touring squad for the three-Test series in South Africa.
Less than a fortnight after leaving Akhtar out due to a lack of match fitness, selectors had their hand forced when seamer Umar Gul was sidelined for the first two Tests by an ankle injury.
Akhtar is currently involved in a domestic first-class game in Pakistan, his first since the squad was named, and has match figures of 5-77 entering the final day of the four-day match.
Nicknamed the 'Rawalpindi Express', Akhtar made headlines in November last year when he tested positive to a prohibited substance, nandrolone, and was given a two-year ban which was later overturned.
