MOLE WARNING - MIGHT BE BULLSHIT

But anyway he says Brisbane want to offload Alex Glenn before June 30 to promote one of their big young group.

Yeah I know, why buy when we can promote our youth, etc, he's 30, we take scraps etc.

But the way I see it, this year our forward stocks are weakened. We may have cap relief from JDB stand down. And that's before we mention Glenn has been among their best for quite a few years

Would you be keen? For the right price I would be (under 500k)

He's a left edge player and we have Sims for that. But McGregor would love him on the other edge so he can move into lock when McInnes goes off so Hunt can go to hooker so Widdop goes to half so Dufty can go to fullback and Latimore finishes his stint and Frizell comes back onto that right edge because Hunt is a 7 who can 9 and McInnes can play lock and I'll always carry a back on the bench

This is sounding like one of those situations where Player Managers talk up their clients, simply on the basis that StGI might need another forward. I'm calling bullshit on this and Merrin.

Gone are the days when Harry Bath and later Wayne Bennett were admired and in command. There was rarely a memoir of discontent in these two great coaches. Coincidentally, both won competitions for the Dragons.

We have some very good young players who have not as yet reached their potential. Oh for a Brown or JD to bring them through. I'd say that:

Leilua
Lomax
Robson
Dufty
Kerr
Timm
Host
Saab
Pearson
Ravalawa
would all benefit greatly from coaching provided these two young coaches. Of course other top grade coaches would also do the job but as it stands, it seems that SGI seem to be more interested in budget level coaches.

OK JDB is missing and does a fiar bit of defensive work but all this BS re missing forwrds and our pack is severely depleted is just BS excuses to take the pressure off the real problems we have in our side that have not been addressed for years.
Lost in attack in opposition 20
Poor end to sets
Game management in close ones (hardly win a golden point game)
Edge defense (right hand side),
Low metres gained when working out of our end and field position
Lack of change of game plans on the run of the game, week to week or year to year
Lack of direct running in attack and standing shallow, (watch how deep other teams are),
Slower linespeed in defense than most others and allowing quick play the balls
Speed on the flanks
Team of experienced plodders V taking punt on young ones giving them ample exposure
Lately errors in possession and cleaning up, catching a ball in the air in a contest without dropping and desperation in cleaning up kicks.

That will do for now...so no... or this highlighting of a 1 missing forward when Frizz returns is a feeble excuse and mask of plenty other issues with our team.

There are good things and positives but will save that for when we win consistently again...
and no to Glenn we have plenty of edge forwards..if you have to... take Matt Gillett instead.

Sorry, I’m a simple person and confused, could you repeat it again slowly? Yes, it’s gold and sounds like something wondercoach would come up with in an interview.

Tell me again, who's on first?

None of that is a problem though - you weren’t criticising that in the first half last week, were you? No.

The problem is completion. We need to be up in the 80s for completion, especially when we have young forwards who are getting fatigued because we are missing 3 middles (not making excuses, but we are missing 3 middles). Once we reduce our errors and hold the ball, then we can use Dufty from the bench running at fatigued players from the opposition. Not our fatigued young forwards, theirs. But we’ll only do that to cover injuries to our middles, which won’t be there at that stage...

I said in another thread that we don't really need more back rowers unless there was a Beau Scott type available, seasoned and tough, and Glenn fits that bill. Could tighten up our right side and he's got some attacking skills as well. could be handy on the bench and send Luch back to 2nds to work on his defence.
Not sure a move to the Gong is desirable for a Bronco lifer though.
We need a prop / lock first though.

I'd say the players just haven't been prepared well enough in to hit the ground running. There is no doubt without the likes of JDB, Frizell and K Sims we were missing a lot of fire power. However, Ravalawa is not yet ready for first grade, Widdop for whatever reason is not performing at fullback, Aitken has not changed and is still unsuitable for first grade, Lafai is this on again / off again performer that sucks the enthusiasm out of the team, Leilua not fit enough for first grade selection.

McInnes needs to stay at hooker and be in rotation with Robson who can also move to the backrow when required.

We need to bring though our young promising props Kerr and Timm instead of blocking their development by selecting Latimore.

T Sims and K Sims are our ideal edge backrow forwards. With K Sims on the right edge and Lomax and Pearson as our outside backs on the right side, we should see an end to the defensive problems out there and Pearson should receive plenty of ball to show just how good he is.

Dufty now has his chance to show his progress in defensive skills and his ability to take the high ball with confidence. I'm afraid that if he cannot demonstrate improvement in these areas, we should be looking for a new fullback.

Widdop/Norman need to be settled in a position for 2019. It is fair to say 4 and 6 would now be the ideal positions for these two players to own. I'll leave it up to Mary however, I believe he will keep Norman at 6 right now and select Widdop at 4. Having these two halves playing together on the left side could end up being the answer to our lacklustre attack. Both have good passing games and a good short kicking game. Both can take the last tackle kick if necessary. Providing they both run straight, I believe this change to deliver a great result.

McGreggor will say it's up to Ian as he's in charge of recruitment & juggling the cap! Millward will say it's up to Paul to let him know of his targeted player requirements!
So in summary.....nothing will happen except the blame game.
