Leaving aside the Parramatta dream, because that is all that it really is, the Broncos will limp into 8th spot. Assuming that all matches go to current ranking, they will meet Penrith Panthers in the semi-final. The form team of the year, but a team who are a good chance of buckling under the pressure with their lack of finals experience. Next up would be Melbourne Storm, who would be coming off a loss to the Bulldogs. Another inexperienced side who you would think would be doing well to beat the Broncos in a semi-final. Third Match on ratings would be against the Roosters. A very tough match but how often does a team lose coming off the Bye. The Broncos are very capable of beating the Roosters, if they have run into form by then. That would presumably leave the Broncos to win a Grand final against either Penrith or Canberra. Both sides will be in the first Grand final for some time, so presumably the Broncos would deserve favouritism. In summary, The broncos would need to beat Penrith, Melbourne, Roosters and Penrith again. Not all that hard a task (in semifinal terms). If they cant do that they dont deserve to win the premiership.
Actually, they dont deserve to win it anyway, but at least it would demonstrate how ridiculous the top 8 system is.
