I used to back off on horses who had a bad barrier.
Not anymore, if you like a horse on form get on no matter what the barrier, in most races if it's good enough to win the race it will win from any barrier plus you get better odds. I've been burnt a few times by not getting on when its drawn wide but not anymore.
Don't get me wrong some don't get up but you'll end up with a profit.

really? i cant back a horse in a wide barrier over a short distance

anything over 1600 and its ok, but not shorter. ive burnt so much dough on horses that start in the grandstand
