To all those who sent private messages to me through the board re my grandfather, A heartfelt thankyou to all, it amazed me how many people who I have never met face to face bothered to spend some time sending me their best wishes, it was much appreciated.
Sadly he lost his battle last night to cancer.
2 small points i wanted to make are that one, it amazes me the many different ways the eels affect my life and others around me, my grandfather was a classic example of this, although he was your typical kiwi rugby and allblack fan, through my passion for the eels he always made a point of knowing how parra went each week and who had done what, so that he could could have a chat to me about the game, actually I think he became quite a fan, one of his favourite comments each week to me was "Gee that Hindmarsh would go great in an allblack jersey wouldn't he, he never stops". This was a special bond that Parra gave us and something I treasured.
Secondly is something i've mentioned before and that is the positive side of a board such as this, the people through here that I have met and become good personal friends with and also the people who I have never met who cared enough to spend their time sending messages.
Sure we may not be having a great season, understatement i know, and we may not always agree on certain topics, but at least Parra still provide us with some positives in other areas.
Sorry to ramble on, but it's been a long night and not much sleep had.

Hats off, GP. You've put into words and perspective the reason why any of us are here at the end of the day, disagreements or not.

Mate, there is no need for you to apologise.

What you have described is precisely what we all feel about Parramatta.

I, too, would like to offer my condolences. It is a difficult time for all involved.

Thanks again to all for your kind words.
Mark this was the first year since we have played in Auckland that I have not been able to make it to the game, at least I had a reasonable excuse.
I'll be back again next year and hopefully for a few home games as well.
