On a lighter note... it could be worse!
There's a team over here called the Essex Eels, running around in National League Three (4th division). This is from the report of their weekend match written by Ian Sargeant (RL&LE):
Bradford-Dudley Hill recorded their second century this season against a shell-shocked Eels, running in 20 tries to win 112-0. The scoring spree was led by fullback Lee Innes who finished with a staggering 40 points.
A disappointed Eels coach Stuart Hogg said "We worked all week on containing these guys and it seemed like everyone plain forgot. I cannot believe we only completed one set all game , and that my halves only saw the ball half a dozen times."
This Eels side's stats for this season so far are:
14 games
1 win (don't ask me how!)
164 points for
974 points against - avg 69.5 per game
Unbelievably they may still manage to avoid the wooden spoon...
