The Roosters bought a coach who has been out of rugby league for three years, living in Wales. He is not up to date with current coaching methods and strategies. That is why he began the season with the one marker defence.
Ricky liked Jamie Soward. Chris doesn't.
We are stuck with Chris for a while. Let's give Mitchell Pearce, son of legend Wayne, a bit of time to develop. The five eighth needs to be Josh Lewis or Mitch Aubussson.
Braith Anasta was another idiotic choice, by Ricky and Nick Polites. Part of the Polites policy of buying a team from Canterbury Bulldogs. Freddy never chose him. Freddy always knew that Trent Barrett is an incomparably better five eighth. Right now Barrett has, with Stuart Fielden, helped turn Wigan from mid table team to a final four contender, behind the mighty St Helens and Leeds for sure, and maybe behind Bradford.
Which Leeds me to point out the main problem --- the Roosters should have gone for St. Helens coach Daniel Anderson instead of Chris Anderson. If that had happened the best young players, including Jamie Soward, would have had a better shot at being considered.
