Joey has had some problems with injuries the past few seasons, but what I was wondering, what was the injury that he carried with him into the Grand Final in 1997 and how serious was it? I'm sure he was no-where near 100% that day.

It was reported that he had a punctured lung, the injury occured a couple of weeks before the grand final if my memory serves me correct. He also missed a fair bit of the 97 season with I think a groin injury, and Leo Denevor filled in for him, and in fact was a big reason that our season was successful, Johns came back, and poor old Leo sank into oblivion, I've seen him at a few Newcastle games, he plays in the local comp now, and let me say he has packed on the Kilos, could be a second rower if he wanted to be, he still displays some of his old skills now and then though.

Joey had a broken rib and rumour has it that his punctured lung was a painkilling injection gone wrong...ouch!

Didnt Crowe, or someone like that, give Dynevor his premiership ring? Cos he only played in a few games that year, Lee Jackson also had his stolen  Stupid pom!

Dynevor has been playing half for the Northern Blues in the "real" NRL. You're right Antonius, he has packed on the kilos. I saw him play with a group of American footballers who came out here, and they were like "that guy plays halfback? He's like our quarterback? He'd be a lineman in the U.S. No questions asked" I thought that was pretty funny.

Dynevor didn't just sink into oblivion, he signed with Wests.

ASK Someone who cares... That was six (6) years ago now - Stop living in past years glory - You are only as good as your last game - AND THAT WAS AWFUL!

As for Crowey giving away his premiership ing - that was a nice geture IF he did.
