Then why did we buy him because we thought we were a winning side?
He is bad value for what he is actually doing which is sweet f**k all.Because he's a hard headed, incredibly experienced, rep back rower who works his ring off, coming in to a young and inexperienced pack....why would you expect him to be a match winner? He will save you a game if he can, and has done dozens of times in his career. He may even win you a close one in a side with halves that can use a hard running forward properly. But he's not going to make a trillion metres and he's not going to replace our lack of attacking spark.
he must be playing busted, my memories of this bloke for manly and nsw are high work rate + fast driving middle of the field darts in bunches with strong leg drive, he's not doing any of these

He's also not working off a quality half, behind a dominant pack making big metres, winning the wrestle and creating a retreating defence. When was the last time the Eels did all of that at once?
Nobody thought that. Are you serious???
We didn't get rid of Hayne, he left us and f**ked us all in one motion.

I'm led to believe it's got something to do with sports science.

I think he's played well, tbh.
Certainly, his defence is good.
