I have yes but I am not the club. It is good fans care enough to chat and debate it. Do we need to hear from Gus about it everyday though? I say no.

I expect the fans and this thread to live on for much longer...I hope Gus stops putting it in the media though.

Hook is going to do a big interview with Buzz for the Sunday Telegraph. That will just make it go on.

He has no affliation with the club now. He can do what is best for him...Or he thinks is best for him. Gus and Panthers on the other hand have a comp to try and win...

It has no benefit to go in the slanging match. Oct is a quiet month so reply then. let is go over the offseason.

I said with the Bryce thing. Even Moylan thing were timed to disrupt our season. Buzz and his cronies would love everyday this is news and will be hoping we fail. To back them up with choosing Hook over Gus

It is pretty much "build pressue, tackle hard, run hard"

No tactical nous.
Here's what I don't get get about Griffin. The team leaves the 10 early and lays in the ruck so much that I'll eat my hat if they haven't been coached to do it. We've given away the most penalties of any team in the comp. We can't build pressure because we're always letting teams out of their own end.

He is a germ of the highest order. Gus could save 10 people from a burning house and Rothfield would write that he didn't save 11.

The saving grace is, the Penrith board and supporters don't give one millisecond of notice in what Rothfield says or prints. As long as everyone important and of influence is on the same page, it doesn't matter what he says or writes.

Gus didn't handle the initial media conference (post sacking) very well I thought. He threw a lot of mud at Griffin & made it personal which was the catalyst for this circus.

For all the advice he wants to give Hook regarding the way he presents himself in the media, i think Gus did himself a major disservice last night. Making sly smug comments, having Girds & Freddy giggling along & having Hannant in Brisbane laying the boot as a 'special guest' was just a poor look for our club & him in particular. It's just seemed so childish. Almost like we were back at school again & the cool kids are picking on the less fortunate kid.

Gus should of just been the bigger man & ended this whole thing last night.

This was so frustrating about the game against Canberra in the first half. It just seemed like every time we trapped them in their own half, a penalty was given which simply piggybacked the Raiders into attack.

Unfortunately all my cursing lead to my 3 year old daughter saying the word "shit" for the first time! I blame Griffin........

My 4 and 5 year old dont blink an eye when i yell or swear at the footy. If they repeat it they're smart enough not to do so around adults.

I think you have to defend yourself. If you don't there's a perception from people that the silence is damning like what Tigers fans are seeing with Ivan Cleary. It probably could have done solely with Gus picking a couple of his quotes and pointing out why they're wrong such as our juniors being shit before Hook got here.

Agree. It's time to get on with it and leave this behind.

Rothfield is still a germ though.

Gus has done good things for the club. Not perfect, of course, but he's been positive on the whole.

Most non-Panthers fans hate him because he is one of the worst commentators known to man. I hate him on the commentary team; he is a cranky, repetitive, annoying presence who is obsessed with refereeing errors, making loud sounds when something exciting happens, and complaining about going to the bunker, and is 100 times worse when Warren is next to him.
This is the commonly expressed view, and yet Nine would not dream of telling him to change his on-air persona. Because he is a major attraction. Footy fans and the great unwashed public in general love having someone to hate. Perhaps why Gus gets likened to Trump a lot. Besides the fact he loves to sack his underlings.

I'm sure we all want this but it won't end even if the Panthers side says nothing. The media are like a dog with a bone.
It'll last until something else comes along. I think we're probably getting near the back end of it now. A strong win at the weekend will certainly help.
