It the Sunday Telegraphs 'What’s the Buzz' they printed an article suggesting one Sydney club has made an under the table payment to a player:

We keep hearing one of the biggest spending Sydney NRL clubs gave paid a new recruit $50,000 in a brown paper bag. We'd suggest salary cap auditor Ian Schubert would be better of checking this out than worrying about a $150 airfare for Fuifui Moimoi's son.

I know it is a 'rumour' column but which team to you think they are talking about. Parra, Souths to a lesser extent Cronulla or Penrith?

Bullcrap. If it happened, as if anyone from the player's side (tax avoidence) or the club's side (salary cap breach) would leak info to a merkin like Rothfield. The cost is too great.

I wouldn't like to speculate on which team it would be for various reasons..... mostly because it would leave the LU site open to litigation......

BTW I agree with Gronk. If they had the info they would name them.

Just to help you out a little bit Colonel, According to a pimply faced kid's look at life, no litigation is possible if you have an opinion and post that opinion...and he would know too, because he knows everything else...:lol:

Dementia..sad disease that and certainly one that is not to be made fun of. I have had a few relatives die with it - as did the great Jack Gibson.

I am down to Canberra to see my mates in a couple of week's time too. Got a young bloke from here who I have recommended to the Raiders, and he is a top prospect too..being sought by the Sharks, Bulldogs and Raiders, and Ben Roarty, who played here last year, wants him to have a trial with the Storm as well.

:shock: The only Clubs that don't do it, at least in the AFL, are the teams that finish outside the top four. That's what the 'word' is down this way.
You would have to be stupid to think it doesn't go on in Rugby League as well..
