I did have a collection of around 2,400 vinyl albums.

Unfortunately, when my health deteriorate,I sold my house and bought a smaller unit.

But alas,my record collection had to go,as well as $1,000's of other collectables.

I still have 70 albums that I treasured too much to depart with.

I'm going to break them out and give a listing.

Anyone here that couldn't let go of their relics from the past?

Yeah man love it.
Don't get much time to travel to the city to dig but eBay makes it very easy to dig online (frowned upon by the real heads)...

Just received 3 rekkids today in the mail, and the bloke threw in a wu tang clan picture disc, pretty happy

Got about 1400 12 inch long plays in my collection as well as numerous 7, 10 and 12 inch singles.

My greatest regret was giving away a mint condition Beatles "Let It Be" single with the pics of the Fab Four on the sleeve to a workmate the day after John Lennon was shot.

He was a mad Lennon fan. The bastard is now worth quite a few hundred dollars. :(

Yeah love it. I get out to garage sales and even the local tip shop has discarded gems from time to time.

But I find people will often just give you stuff they no longer want.

Ebay is alright but postage sucks. The record fairs are good but dealers jack up prices for those.

Have a few prize pieces mostly early 70s Australian hard rock stuff that was only ever given one pressing.

I have a golden rule of vinyl.

If you have bought it, keep it regardless. If you grow tired of it or end up hating it, still keep it. There will be a day when you might just want to listen to it again.

Also, I've been given over 50 LPs through the years and I've kept them all.

My prized possessions would be the Sunnyboys' "Alone with You" 12 inch yellow vinyl single and the Sex Pistols' "The Great Rock n Roll Swindle" with the track listing on the sleeve bearing no resemblance to the listing on the vinyl. Only 1200 were produced worldwide.

I have a collection spanning about 50 years. Gave away a great sound system about 35 years ago to a neighbourhood kid that I thought would be into music only to find he stuck it in his garage and never used it. I have been planning to buy a decent turntable, amp and speakers again ever since.

I got rid of most of my albums years ago but kept a few but mainly kept all my 12 inch singles and do have most of my 7 inch singles stored away. Still have an old amp tucked away and turntable so have been thinking of just setting it up in our spare room once i get rid of some junk out of it.

I could not get rid of this vinyl album and used to play it lots when i had the turntable hooked up in my old place separate to my other sound system i had set up in the lounge room. When it was released on CD it was released on a crappy budget label and the quality was lousy so i ended up making my own CD of it with some extended bits and also a track that featured in the movie and was released on single but never appeared on the soundtrack album.
