Reported side

. Darius Boyd (Broncos)
2. Blake Ferguson (Roosters)
3. Will Chambers (Storm)
4. Josh Dugan (Dragons)
5. Valentine Holmes (Sharks)
6. Johnathan Thurston (Cowboys)
7. Cooper Cronk (Storm)
8. Aaron Woods (Tigers)
9. Cameron Smith (Storm)
10. David Klemmer (Bulldogs)
11. Boyd Cordner (Roosters)
12. Matt Gillett (Broncos)
13. Trent Merrin (Panthers)

Interchange:
14. Matt Moylan (Panthers)
15. Tyson Frizell (Dragons)
16. Josh Papalii (Raiders)
17. Shannon Boyd (Raiders)

9-8 blues I'll take that :)

Still don't understand why Dugan is rated as an international and Origin centre, Maloney should've been there and starting (if Thurston can't play), Merrin and S.Boyd are also lucky.

But as if Mal was going to change the team.

When are people going to get the picture that rep coaches aren't in the business of changing half their side based on the last 3 weeks form..
Incumbency will always be considered strongly if they played well last game, especially in a game like this that doesn't have an extended squad.

maintaining a similar side also ensures that combinations and gameplans aren't completely altered.

eg some players at club level rely on a specific way they want to receive the ball that maybe completely different to how the incumbent players want to play.

wholesale changes means trying to putting an entirely new gameplan together. long and short of it, this isn't supercoach

Chambers and Dugan ahead of Leilua or Croker? Lol.

We don't need a goal kicker with Smith and Thurston in the side, so that rules Croker out, and BJ didn't have a great game last week, not that Dugan should be picked.

Ponga's parents will be gutted, TBH, if I had a kid who decided to play for Oz over NZ I'd hit the frikkin roof.

Maybe Ponga should try and be like Adrian Lam - play for Queensland and then play for the Kiwis. The ARL/NRL might back down from the must be eligible for Oz when Mel picks him in his next Queensland team and open origin up for dual nationals.

As for the test team - these would be my backs:

RTS
Rapana
Whare
Anyone but Hurrell and Kata as they're both Tongan.
DMZ
Princess
Foran

Unlike Bobby Digital I don't have an obsessive hatred of Kahu so more than happy to see him in black (and the dude saved our bacon on many occasions in the last ANZAC test) and if SKD grew a pair of hands he'd be ok. Pity that Laumape is tearing it up for the Canes.

And Kahu's somehow become a worse player since the last test match. He's directly losing games with his stupidity now.

I hope that is the Aus side. Chambers and Dugan LMFAO. If only we had gun centres at the moment, we'd run right through them. Damnitt.

Hiku and DWZ into my 3/4 line with the Vunivalu eligibility clear-up, and the Ponga bitch move.

Agreed on Asofa-Solomona. I actually somewhat forgot about him, half way through yesterday's game I realized I shouldn't have.

they've got like 2 proper training sessions to do anything so yes, this is the correct approach. particularly the Anzac test as there just isn't enough time to prepare for it. end of season matches are different as there is a season's body of work worth to consider.

but i reckon mcguire has been belting the door demanding to get in. merrin can consider himself incumbent and lucky. if he doesn't improve and become consistent, mcguire will be the starting national middle forward at year's end
