He was in the kiwi train on squad when it was 3 years residency,he never played for NZ,then he moved to the gold coast..And the rules changed to 5 years residency..SO HES NOT ELIGIBLE..

Had he completed his 3 years residency and then played for the kiwis he'd have been golden...But he didn't!!!

The residency law is you must have been resident in your chosen country for 5 year up to and including the year you are selected...Meaning it's 5 years of continuos residency..

You can't live there for 5 years as a kid,move to Oz as a 12 year old,or what ever,and still be eligible for NZ...It doesn't work like that....

And it's shocking that only Ozzie's or kiwis that don't get it!! Wtf is wrong with you lot???

Vunivalu was also asked if he'd like to play NZ or Australia in the World Cup, even though he is eligible for neither under the rules.

Some journos and fans ignorant of the rules assume every decent player HAS TO BE eligible for one of the big 3. A good player from outside NSW, QLD, NZ or England? Unheard of!
