Mini - Gone
Mason - $6000 total in fines (how many lives? $1000 was for signing someone elses name)
Waterhouse - $5000 in fines ( he and willy got $2000 for the bus/pie stuff?)
The rest got $3000 fine. Can't remember all names.

Claims that some players went to Brothel still being investigated - Should be ignored in my opinion as there's nothing illegal, and not hurting anybody.

Minichiello dumped from NSW Origin squad

New South Wales officials have taken a firm stance against misbehaving players, today throwing the Blues preparation into chaos by dropping a further player from next Wednesday night’s first State of Origin match at Telstra Stadium.

Roosters star Anthony Minichiello was sacked from the Blues squad tonight following a marathon six hour meeting that involved ARL officials, Willie Mason, Mark O’Meley, Craig Gower, Craig Wing, Trent Waterhouse and of course Minchiello.

Minichiello defied an order not to take his mobile phone to a team bonding session on Tuesday night. That defiance indirectly led to the phone message sex scandal that resulted in Dragons star Mark Gasnier being sacked from the Origin squad.

Gasnier used Minichiello’s phone to make the 3:41am call to the woman, who he didn’t know.

In addition, five NSW players have been fined – two of them for visiting what ARL official John Chalk described as an “inappropriate place”. Chalk did not confirm nor deny the possibility of that place being a brothel.

Trent Waterhouse, Willie Mason, Craig Gower, Craig Wing and Mark O’Meley were all fined $3,000 each, with Mason earning himself an additional $3,000 in fines for his behaviour at a team appearance in Liverpool yesterday as well as for his behaviour on a public bus on Wednesday. Trent Waterhouse was fined an additional $2,000 for his behaviour on that public bus.

ARL officials, who held a press conference tonight four hours after it was initially scheduled, said players would not be allowed to leave the team hotel during the camp from now on unless given specific authorisation by team management.

But team management themselves could find themselves in hot water, with confirmation that all positions are “under review.”

ARL officials were grilled by media representatives at the press conference over the nature of the fines and the failure to sack members of team management, which had been rumoured throughout the afternoon. The constant response from John Chalk was that team management was “under review” and that the fines were the toughest possible that they could impose on players.

A replacement for Minichiello has not yet been named. Team management as well as coach Phil Gould will make that decision over the weekend.

Minichiello as well as the players fined are understood to be meeting with their managers, with most expected to release statements this evening.

The fines seem very low, but I guess different rules/guidelines are in place under the ARL. Having said that, each offence, if taken on it's merrits, and nothing more, would probably not deserve much more. Given the context of recent events however, everybody expects blood.

Shit a brick. Sacked for carrying a phone and other players fined for defying a curfew which never existed. Queenslanders must be laughing their heads off. :?

Minichiello dumped from the SOO squad for the mobile phone incident. He was with Gasnier when he made the call.

Mason, O'Meley, Wing, Gower, Waterhouse fined $3000 for going out after the team function.

Mason and Waterhouse fined $2000 for the public transport incident.

Mason fined $1000 for signing another players name

The supposed offensive drawing attributed to Mason which attracted so much media attention today on 2GB has been shown to the media and is simply non offensive doodling.

I fully expect Mason to be shown the door. He's shown that he can't be civilised.

Lets hope one of the punishments is the sacking of Willie Mason, not just from The Bulldogs but from the entire game of Rugby League.

After that I hope the clubs of these other players think long and hard about suspending them for their actions. This whole saga could have easily been prevented if they had acted like decent human beings and showed respect for the NSW jersey.

True Willow. I expect Minichello to be sacked from the roosters for the next couple games. Not for the lame excuse of carrying a phone but rather for lying to roosters officials.

I am unable to attach an image to my post.

To see the disgusting drawing which prompted so much 2GB outrage,

Kennel

I believe that Mason should go, purely on the basis of signing another players autograph for a young footy fan.

Not to sound like a crank but every 14 year old knows how to draw "meat and two veg" then add a few lines so that teacher/mum/Sister Euphemia only see a face or two...

I see certain "shapes" in the picture but it's all conjecture.

Ray Hadley and 2GB should apologise if these are the pictures they were so disgusted in.

Looks like my high school note books. Brings back memories.

He still apparently signed a kids collector card with a bogus name. I mean a poor kid. Jesus. :?

Willy deserves criticism and possible sacking for signing another name, but a lot of yesterdays fury was over the doodling.
