Warriors head coach Nathan Brown has showered new recruit Ash Taylor with praise, claiming he has been in fine form since arriving at the club.
Taylor is currently on a train and trial deal with the New Zealand side having previously been signed to a lucrative deal with the Titans.
While the 26-year-old is not a certainty to be signed by the Warriors for the 2022 season, Brown has said that he has excelled with less pressure on his back.

“He’s been really positive, and his training has been really good,” Brown told SEN.
“If he can be as consistent as what he has shown so far, we are quite positive that Ash can have a really good impact on our footy club.
“The pressure on him at our club is going to be far less than what he [previously] felt.”
Taylor played 114 for the Titans between 2016 and 2021 but hit a rough patch of form last season, as coach Justin Holbrook decided towards playing young half Toby Sexton.

His experience, alongside the return of veteran playmaker Shaun Johnson will only have a positive impact of the team’s training and the development of young half Chanel Harris-Tavita.
“We need them all to train consistently well for a long period of time,” Brown said.
“That’s where our growth is going to come from.”
While the club is in good spirits having commenced pre-season training, Brown conceded that it was again hard for the team to be in a makeshift base away from their Auckland headquarters.

“Two years in a row of coaching staff and players all living together and seeing each other every day; I’m not sure that’s conducive to the best sporting environment,” Brown said.
“The players have sourced out their own places to live and they’re not living in a block of apartments together,” Brown said.
“Players having their own lives away from footy will somewhat help us too.”
The Warriors finished in 12th place last season, winning eight games.
