Wonder how popular Heroes will be now. The original series was on way back before the whole superhero craze. The first season was pretty damn popular, but had diminishing returns in subsequent series. It really did lose its way after the first season, like they had nowhere to go with the story. Also they had way too many people with abilities. Seemed like every second person they met had some ability.

I've actually never seen The Evil Dead. Shame on me, I know, but I do plan to watch it sometime soon. Funnily enough, I have seen Army of Darkness though.

Watched the first episode of Ash V TWD and loved it. By no means great, but nailed it for a fanboi like myself. Love that they are doing mostly practical effects. Bruce still owning that character like no one's business with all the cheesy 1 liners and slapstick.
He seems a bit more of an arsehole but. Even more so than army of darkness. Just getting old and cranky I guess lol

Good.

Evil Dead was the balls. Army of Darkness was such an odd departure.

Looks amazing. Xena also appears to be in it which is awesome. I think the last thing I saw her in was BSG.

I don't think that's the case, they just appear to have picked up 20 years or so down the track from Army of Darkness. If anyone remembers the last scene of that movie you'll know exactly what I mean.

Agree after the 1st cpl episodes, it's closer to AOD than the others. Incredibly cheesy, enjoying it. But not as good as I thought it'd be tbh.

Just binge watched the first four episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead last night, loving it!

While it's almost always impossible to recapture the charm of an old school movie/show in a current setting (that's nostalgia for you I guess), they have been doing a damn good job in this series so far.

Bruce Campbell is still the man, some sweet cheesy one liners (new and old), to go with the over the top gore and hilarious black comedy.

Watched the first episode, absolutely loved how the deadites were brought back around - he gets pissed with a chick and reads her some "poetry" - which is actually the book of the dead lol

gotta find the time to watch the rest, but may just let them sit and make a weekend of it around xmas time

Yeah definitely recommend the binge watch method, now that I've caught up my main criticism of the show is that it goes too quickly then you have to wait a whole week for the next fix!
