The question is Khawaja being judged on runs or the fact he soaks up the new ball.Death of ODI cricket is just so sad. The short formats are never on my calendar anymore. WC brings some relevance to the 50 over format but still don't have any interest in t20 cricket at any level.
All eyes on top order bats going into shield. Brisbane is the D/N fixture so could use some thought from selectors. Maybe schedule a D/N shield match?
I think Khawaja/Labs will probably open the first two tests. Then it depends on the results.
Hero retirement at the SCG for Khawaja can't be guaranteed but its ideal. Its where it started for him. Best place for it to finish as well.

His obviously been in massive decline from a runs point of view.
I don’t think he’s got the eyes or reactions anymore, unfortunately.I can still see Uzi scoring some runs at home. Will it be enough? I don't think we have two options because the selectors have done nothing for so long
Kony can't play, there's no way. Renshaw in for him, pray for another option. Otherwise I can't see anyone who could replace Uzi, unless they go back to trying to make a not-opener an opener with McSweeney or Inglis or someone

Jake Weatherald coming off a decent couple of seasons isn’t he?
Better option that merkinstas or Labs at least.
We should blindside the poms with Konstas, McGurk and Connolly as our top 3 in Perth...
We probably lose the first test anyway like last year, may as well give these youngsters a bite at em...
More likely they’d just Starc us and we’d be 3/0 after 1.McGurk and Connolly will have us 0/680 at stumps on Day 1.
Out Bazball the Bazaballers.
