Ashes tickets

Just wondering who has bought tickets for the Ashes this summer? They went on sale to the general public yesterday.

I bought tickets to Day 4 of the SCG test. Unfortunately, days 1 and 2 were sold out and day 3 - which is the day I initially intended of going to - only has restricted viewing seats left in category 1. Nevertheless, I'm very excited to go and hopefully it doesn't rain and Australia and England put up a good fight so the test isn't finished before then. This is the first time I've been to a test match (been to 2 T20 internationals and an ODI in the past)

You should join the ACF and get access to the priority period.

I got tickets behind the bowlers arm on day 2.

Ok, for those living in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney who haven't bought tickets yet and are thinking about going.

At the moment that I'm typing:

1st test (Brisbane, November 21-25): Of the 78 bays at The Gabba

Day 1: Tickets are only available in 5 bays, of which 4 of them have low availability. Will definitely sell-out sometime within the next few days.
Day 2: Approximately 50% of tickets already sold
Day 3: Approximately 60-70% of tickets already sold
Day 4: Approximately 35-40% of tickets already sold

2nd test (Adelaide, December 5-9):

Days 1/2/3 sold-out
Day 4 Only Platinum (Category 1) tickets available

Days 1/2: Sold-out
Day 3: Restricted viewing tickets only available
Day 4: Excluding the Bronze section, plenty of tickets available in the other sections

ACF = Australian Cricket Family.

It's free to join I think, at least it was when I signed up.

Gives you access to the priority purchase period. Really useful in Ashes years.

Anyone who bought tickets this summer to watch this shit is a dickhead.

All you're doing is giving your money to those merkins at CA for being shit at what they do. Why the f**k would you do that?

I've got 9 tickets for day 1 at the Gabba. The 9 of us will be in for a big day. Hopefully Boof has worked his magic on the team by then and we are at least competitive.

They couldn't have picked a better time. Right after the what will be the closest test out of the ten by far and the stupid merkins fall for it.

you really aren't cricket fan are you ?

More than you'll ever be. No real cricket fan would give CA their money at this point to watch this shit.

I've never seen one positive post from this douche, he was nowhere to be seen after a fantastic first test. Now he is just boring.

There's f**k all to be positive about when it comes to Aussie Cricket these days.

Enjoy the "fantastic" first test loss, it'll be the highlight of these 10 matches.

What, so you expect all the grounds to be empty? Ain't going to happen.

We really hit rock bottom in the 2010/11 series in Australia, epitomised by the fact we lost 3 tests by an innings. The side was incompetent that summer but the main reason I didn't buy tickets the last time around because you could clearly see they lacked any passion and desire for the Baggy Green throughout that series, let alone our selectors did not treat the Ashes with the respect it deserved by using it as a practice ground for blooding new players (which is what Sheffield Shield is for, as that's the highest level below tests matches in Australia). Yes, results are important and everyone loves to see a winner, but - to use a rugby league example - like my Newcastle Knights in 2005 which ended up finishing wooden spooners after losing the first 13 games of the season, the fans will still keep turning up if they are seeing that the players are trying their guts off and putting in their best effort, unlike in 2007 where the majority of the team phoned it in after Joey retired earlier in the season.

We may not necessarily win the series this upcoming summer, but one thing's for sure: we are going to put in a much better effort and commitment than we did in 2010/11. A team who does that won't get anywhere near losing 3 tests in a series by an innings. As long as T20 one-hit wonders like the Big Show and Mitchell Pearce's at Origin level like Mitchell Johnson stay well away from the test side, we will be competitive this time around.

Our cricket team have 17 of us all going to Day 2 of the Sydney test. We were ACF members, but couldn't get all of the seats together; we could only get 9 of them on one side and 8 of them the other side of the ground.
It was the greatest debacle getting the tickets than any other sporting even I've been too. Went into Ticketek in Newcastle the morning the went on sale to the public. Had to go with another guy from my team, as they'd only sell 9 tix to one person. Computers apparently went down in Newcastle but nowhere else and as the ladies working there tried to get 17 seats together, we were told too many sold too quickly and we wouldnt be able to get more than two or three seats together scattered around the ground. Two days later, they rang us saying the had 17 tickets for us, all sitting together.
So we're going now. Right behind the Yabba statue. I'm pumped.
My missus was going to try to get us tix to the GABBA test for my birthday but with them selling quick we'll see how that goes.
