Asics to withdraw sponsorship

According to Sun Herald, Asics are going to pull out as our major sponsor next year. I was thinking, James Hardie is copping a pasting with the asbestos controversy. It would be nice if they came back and lifted their public and became our sponsors again. Hardie with the retro 80's that we will wear against Penrith in 2 weeks would be awesome for next year. I cannot stand these new jerseys, the Blue and Gold just isn't the Blue and Gold that I am used to.

A big company like Sony would be good. And I agree Herbal world sound like some sort of drug dealing operation

Why would they continue to fork out big $$$ after two woeful seasons?

They'll be hard pressed to find a new sponsor willing to pay big money.

Can't really blame them. Major sponsors like to be associated with winners. Looks like we wasted our time changing the Eel to mirror the Asics logo.

I wouldn't want James Hardie back as our sponsor. The way they have conducted their affairs is absolutely disgraceful.

Sanyo stuck with the Panthers after two seasons, your 2003-04 is nothing compared to 01-02 for us.

That asbestos shit is a ticking time bomb, anyone as I have who has renovated an old house could have been exposed to that shit.

I don't think a company in as much trouble lately as James Hardie would have spare $$$ they'd be willing to fork out on league sponsorship.

I'll have to get a plain yellow iron-on tranfer to cover the (rather large) Asics logo on my jersey now!

THIS F'ING SHITS ME TO TEARS!

Asics can go jump. Trust me when I say that Parramatta will have absolutely no worries getting a new major sponsor. If you look at all the NRL clubs we would have to be one of the safest investments. The club and the area itself has so much going for it we'll be knocking them back by the thousands. Just a few things like
* The Parramatta Eels have a proud and rich history with a strong well respected administration (as much as we hate fitz he's highly regarded in the corporate world which speaks volumes for the club)
* The Parramatta region in itself is the 2nd largest CBD in NSW
* The Team gets generous TV exposure
* Parra are statistically the most supported team in Australia

And this is only a few reasons. There are so many more reasons. I could go on. But when Parra win the grand final in 2005 i will be LOL @ Asics.

The most annoying thing out of this is perhaps the fact that there will be a significant change in the Jersey, which means another $130 or whatever

Did Sanyo renew their contract within that bad period?
