Attending the Melbourne Cup

Ok so it's going to be the first city race meeting i've attended.

My Expectations

Massive line up for beer
Massive line up to piss
Massive line up for food
Massive line up to bet with bookies
No where to sit

If the weather is shithouse will the crowd drop below 100,000?

Unless you are in the members don't worry about drinking if you are keen to have a punt for every race.

Line ups are horrendous, so glad when I went down in 2011 I was in the members

Yep if not in Members area you will be getting sodomised on a regular basis lining up for a drink

It's not that bad. Just have to find a good spot. Betting on the tote is a pain so be prepared to line up or take unders from the bagmen. It's a good day though.
