23 by my count. are the games below 10,000. the number appears to have hovered between 20-30 for some time now.

Compared to 2000, the average has increased by over 12%, and if the next round averages the same as the current season average (which it should exceed vastly), the aggregate will be up around 18%.

2005 was a freak of a season, there'd never been anything remotely like it before, and its sticks out like dogs balls as an outlier.

Hopefully with some money and without a media empire calling the shots we can get have some initiatives in place to get more bums on seats.

I'm willing to bet that a High percentage of those games were MNF.

I wonder what the average is if you remove Monday games?

Thanks tba. By my count both Canberra had 7 sub 10000 crowds and Penrith 6 interestingly only 3 Monday night crowds were below 10000.

Only three actually. Which works out to a little more than an 1/8 of the total of sub 10k fixtures, for a little more than an 1/8 of the games. Pretty much dead on average.

Looking through the numbers, MNF seems to average somewhere between 13-14k per game however. non MNF fixtures are around 500 stronger than the current average. It's having an impact on the highs but it only gets its far share of shockers.

Having subpar 10k crowds in 2012 is inexcusable hopefully with fixed scheduling, greater push of memberships should lead to a reduction of sub 10k crowds.

Hardly.

A Decade ago we'd typically get over 50 of these a season. Halving the total in ten years is a very decent effort imho.

Sydney has a population of 4.4 million people. We should not be getting crowds below 10k let alone 20k. That just says to me that the Greater Sydney area is over-saturated with football teams. At least Brisbane, Melbourne and North Queensland can get some good crowds...

Hopefully over the next couples of years there be a accelerated reduction as a result of fixed scheduling, better advertising, lower ticket prices, memberships, etc. It be nice over the next 5 years for the number of sub10k crowds to drop even further to say 10-12 subpar..then 5-7 subpar and hopefully 0 subpar eventually. It's possible to push crowd growth within the next couple of years.

Melbourne's crowds aren't exactly awe inspiring and North QLD have a lower average than five Sydney clubs...But yeah, stick to the whole 'Sydney is sh*t' claptrap...

Definitely. I'd say getting it down to 10 a season should be the target for the next 5 years.

I think within 5 years we should be looking to get rid of sub 10K crowds all together and i think that is achievable.

I don't we will start miraculously pulling AFL type crowds but i think within 5 years things will have improved a decent amount (guess we can only wait and see).
