Warm up game for 2016 four nations...

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/29837496/rugby-league-test-for-perth/

An historic trans-Tasman rugby league Test will be played in Perth next year.

Australia and New Zealand, the top two teams in the world, will play the first Test staged in Perth at nib Stadium in October with the National Rugby League and the State Government set to finalise the deal.

Both teams will use the game in their build-up to the Rugby League Four Nations tournament in England and Scotland in October and November.

Playing the Test at the 20,500 capacity nib Stadium is a coup for the WANRL which is pushing for their West Coast Pirates franchise to be in an expanded national competition.

A decision on expansion in 2018 is expected early next year.

The match will also be a bonus for local fans with the possibility of three NRL games also being played in Perth next year.

South Sydney Rabbitohs have agreed to bring a match west for the eighth consecutive season after beating New Zealand Warriors 36-4 in front of a record 20,272 nib crowd in June.

It is understood at least two other clubs, including Manly, are interested in matches here.

The Sea Eagles brought a game to Perth three years ago when they beat the Warriors at Patersons Stadium.

The NRL have already confirmed plans to schedule rugby league World Cup games in Perth in 2017.

They are slated to play each other in the 1st game of the 4 nations too..

Was my first thought too. Well it double up as a 4 Nations fixture?

Guess this also means Australia wont have played a test match in 18 months.

Surely they're not hoping to double this fixture up as part of the 4 nations competition.

Good news for Perth. Would prefer this to be in the middle of the year but regardless, should be good. Sunday afternoon would be nice. 2pm kick off in Perth, 4pm broadcast in the East Coast

If the match is in October, it is actually a 3hr time difference between the East Coast and Perth.

Therefore, I believe the match will be at 6:30pm on the East Coast (3:30pm in Perth) rather than 4pm (1pm Perth time), as a game during the middle of the day in Perth can easily reach the mid-30s during that time of the year.

Hopefully they'll be using this fixture to promote the following years RLWC which will surely have a presence in Perth. If players are concerned about the amount of footy they're playing then maybe this will be part of the 4 nations.
