Do many/any of the gang here in the pro-wrestling forum ever get to see the more 'local' wrestling scene? If so, what were your thoughts?

Can you give me a rundown on any wrestlers you saw?

Yeah whenever I get the chance to see an Aussie Wrestling show I do. The best Aussie Wrestling Show I've seen was AWF Nova Slam back in 2001. (I bought the video of the show) I've also seen the the IWA a couple of times at Wallsend RS. Dafinatly nothing wrong with the product.

Where do you hear about upcoming shows, Ian? Aside from the Supershow in November - I've not heard about any wrestling being nearby.

Best place for info on upcoming shows is the forum on www.wrestling.net.au , or check out www.no-holds-barred.net . There's also the Sell which you already know about and each of the feds have there own sites as well.

For NSW:

UWA: http://www.uwaprowrestling.com.au/
AWF: http://www.awfwrestling.com.au/
IWA: http://www.iwawrestling.com.au/

You'll find the UWA mostly at Seven Hills/Toongabbie RSL and Merrylands RSL. AWF do shows at their dojo at Minto and the odd show at Campbelltown Catholic Club and IWA like to travel the whole state. That's just in general, they do go elsewhere.

IWA are your best bet, but that's probably only a few times a year. There's also the Supershow this year being shown up there after the Panthers one.

AWF used to do semi-regular visits in their glory days but both them and the UWA have quietened down a fair bit since their "split".

There is an old fed, last known as Titan, or TWP, that actually did a one off show up there just a few months ago. No word on any further plans though.

Damn. Makes me wish I had some talent (and money) so I could get a Newcastle fed started, heh.

Ah well, will wait for the Supershow. As soon as I've got some cash I intend to book my tickets. I want to be as close to the action as possible.

I go when time and work permit as i live in Dubbo and i love it ive even done the Dubbo to Sydney one dayer leaving Dubbo at 5am to watch UWA on a Sunday arvo then when the show finishes i make the 5 hour trip back to Dubbo home by 11.30pm

UWA Sunday shows at Merrylands and Toongabbie are arvo gigs finished by 6 or earlier the last show i went to was IWA 300th show at Burwood a couple weeks ago and it was great

My Fave oz wrestlers are Mark Mercedes,John Howarth, Billy Cole,Tyson Gibbs,Devlin DeSkyes, Phil Picasso and TNT

Dont expect WWE type show but you will enjoy it LIVE NEXT UWA show is August 14 at Merrylands

Oh, I definitely intend to. If I had a car, I'd drive to Sydney just to catch it. As it is, I'm relying on Newcastle shows (like the Supershow).
