How come the Kiwies have 5 teams
The competition is run by the Rugby Unions involved. These include:

Australia

Brumbies - ACT
Reds - QLD
Waratahs - NSW
New Zealand

The Blues - Auckland
Chiefs - Waikato
Crusaders - Christchurch
Highlanders - Dunedin
Hurricanes - made up of nine different provinces but based in Wellington
South Africa

Bulls - Pretoria
Cats - Transvaal
Sharks - Durban
Stormers - Cape Town

4th Aussie side the Goldcost Koala bears ;-) cut the Hurricanes or the weakest Kiwi side 8)

I believe a Pacific side and a side from Argentina are the priorities. However, if NSW and ACT continue to perform strongly, the arguments are definitely there for a 4th Australian side - especially when you consider how bad the 4 South African teams have been travelling of late.

The Bulls are better then the Tahs and Reds usually
And how many times have the bulls finished last?
Getting rid of the Hurricanes is pointless; they have the most loyal fans in the super 12 but are usually inconsistent
Getting rid of one of the 3 struggling South African teams would be a better option but who honestly watches the super 12 in Australia?

The Reds are shit, but the Waratahs are Brumbies are competitive.

I would like to see a South American side be included. Does anyone know what the chances are of this happening?

you might have been there to watch the super 12

but it doesnt mean that the others weren't there to play keno, pokies, drink or watch darts

Bulls just smoked the caines so f**kin badly. I turned it off with 25 minutes to go and it was 33-5

If they would just delete dimitri's entries and others like him, there wouldn't be so many topics having to be closed down because of fights.

That is just what they are hoping for when they come into the rugby section, to thwart any useful debate and dialogue and close down the topics.

Dim it would be easier if you just turned off your TV set or changed channell. Then you would have nothing to gripe about and the people that love watching the game can debate it in peace with out your troll comments. Simple solutions are always the best :D

A fourth Super 12 team arent going to happen. Its all hot air.

ARU can barely support three franchises on player bases. Its just summer dreaming!

Yes, it is true that the ARU would be hard pressed to produce the players for a fourth S12 team. However, Melbourne, Sydney, and possibly Perth, can provide the the facilities and fan base for an additional team. Remember, S12 sides only play 5 or 6 home games.

Yes, it is also true that international RU would benefit from the south Pacific Islands and/or Argentina in the S12. However, none of these nations have the population (in the case of Tonga, Samoa and Fiji), or the sport is not popular enough (in the case of Argentina), to increase the media exposure of the event. Remember, the S12 is a television created and driven comp.

Given these facts, a fourth Australian franchise is financially viable, IF the 3 existing franchises are willing to allocate quality players to the new franchise, and all of the Australian franchises begin signing more international and up-and-players from other southern hemisphere nations to professional contracts.

Given the limited nature of the S12, these players could be receiveing paychecks, and still be available to internationals for their nation and play in their domestic competition. This is not the case when southern hemisphere ply their trade in Enagland or France.

I have to take accept your word that the Pumas draw this type of crowd, and certainly hope it is consistently true.

However, we are not talking about the Pumas playing in the S12. What is the attendance, TV viewership of top club level matches?
