BRISBANE will host the Socceroos' first home match in the next phase of their World Cup qualification campaign, the FFA revealed today.
The match, against Qatar, will be held at Suncorp Stadium on the night of Wednesday October 15.
It will be Australia's only game at home until April next year. In between are fixtures against Bahrain in November and Japan in February.
The Socceroos defeated Qatar at home and away during the previous phase of qualification.
The Socceroos will begin the next stage of the road to South Africa against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on September 10.
"We will have to work hard to achieve qualification, but playing in the FIFA World Cup is something every player wants to do and they know what they need to do to get there," coach Pim Verbeek said.
Tickets for the Qatar match will go on sale for 'My Football Family' members next Tuesday. General public tickets will be available the following Friday.
