Has anyone heard the barmy army?

Did they get the right venue for the 1st test? lol

Didn't you hear? The economy has meant that only 15k could travel over :sarcasm:

I was just thinking the same though. Apart from just before the 1st ball they've been silent.

2-86 at lunch

not enough pressure build up by the Aussies imo, needed to do more on this pitch

too much leg side and middle and leg bowling easy to score from and get yourself up the other end

we need more off stump attack, maidens and pressure build

easy to say, but maybe the bowlers are a bit nervous

We have bowled well but as you said the biggest problem for Australia is building pressure because the bowling line up is so erratic. There is no one who will just sit there and put the pressure on.

Evenly poised at lunch.

Shane Watson the performer of the morning.

Good innings by Cook to hold the English together. Looks like there could be a good partnership forming

Don't know bout Hauritz but smith would've taken that 1 handed

O'Keefe would have juggled it but hung on.

X has got a bit of early turn though. You have to wonder if this pitch is gonna last 5 days though. When Pietersen landed on his face hitting that 4 it looked like a lot of surface gave way. Swan will be licking his lips.

Or just not up to it?

our best bowler is not playing, and our 2nd best bowler is an opening batsman
Playing a rookie unproven spinner aint a good look at the gabba either

On reflection, I wouldnt be suprised if poms bat well into day 2 and post 500 plus

Sh*t miss by Xavier but I always find Watson's body language to be the most annoying thing whenever something goes against him. Still frowning and shaking his head when he grabs his hat etc... c'mon mate grow up, the kid who just made the mistake has to bowl next!

I reckon him and Lee Furlong need to make a baby, you know what they say, having a kid changes you. Seems thats the last straw to change his arrogent self centred ways.

took the day off and have watched the whole morning.

hilfenhaus and watto looking the most dangerous although hilfy was a bit expensive.

x turing it more than ive ever seen hauritz do

siddle bowling straught pies at 135-138 kph (way to worry the batsmen)

and my best mate johnson spraying it all over no swing or movement off the seam. but did we expect anything else.

bolinger and harris in this team and i rekon we have at least 4 wickets by lunch, but we all know that there was no chance of mitch being dropped and siddle's great form clearly earned him a spot over far more underdone bowlers........

if england score a decent total can we chase runs carrying north and hussey??????

It was a sitter! That is why Watson was peeved off. Typical Tasmanians and Victorians. Hauritz would have gobbled that up, was a regulation catch.

Yes no doubt but shaking your head and still crying 5 mins later isn't exactly productive
