I can't remember fans being so disinterested in a international competition like this in quite sometime.
Hopefully the double header goes a long way to fixing that.
Seems like the only interesting aspect to talk about, other than Hayne's shocking decision is some of the selections that have been made. Can't say I'm a fan of Sione Mata'utia being selected at this stage. I believe he's got a big future in him and would rather him than say a Croker or Idris but to select him over Chambers seems like a stretch.
I'm not the biggest Will Chambers fan but he deserved to be selected after his Origin debut and shouldn't have been omitted for a guy who just turned 18 and has only played 7 games so far. I was already uncomfortable with the prospect of selecting Johnston, the selection of Sione only complicates matters.
Still, it's an interesting talking point and honestly would love to see him kill it and his rise become one of the stories of the tournament.
