Not sure if it is the right thing - they have only had around four weeks off. The season is very long, wouldnt it be better if they trained smarter rather then starting two weeks early. Not sure what starting two weeks early will achieve

Good idea. After the way they performed last year they don't deserve more than a 4 week break. Hopefully in the extra 2 weeks they can work on basic defence and basic forward running.
