Back injury cruels Burns' footy season

DEPARTING Manly five-eighth Travis Burns has admitted his debilitating back injury has him concerned he may not return to action this season.
The 23-year-old, who will move north to play with the Cowboys next year, has two bulging discs in his back.
Burns has found the injury hard to shake off and it continues to cause him pain.
The former Shark has not played for the Sea Eagles since Round 16's 26-22 loss to the Dragons on July 1.
He was again a late withdrawal from the team for last night's match with the Sharks at Toyota Park.
Asked if he was worried that he may have played his last match for Manly, Burns said: ``It is in the back of my mind.
``But I've worked too hard this season to end it like this.
``It's been a frustrating season for me, to be honest.
``To miss so many games through illness and injury is hard.
``I've been working really hard with the physio in the last couple of weeks.
``I've just got to manage it and get it right.
``There's seven weeks to go (until the finals) so hopefully it will be right by then.
``I'm desperate to get back.''
