Great win by Eels today and hats of to DA for turning the team around after last weeks dust-up. It was truly magnificient.

But the Titans game is a whole different proposition and has me worried on several fronts:

a.) We have NEVER beaten them
b.) we NEVER travel well with the favouritism tag
c.) short turn-around
and
d.) Titans will be hurting after Broncos put the cleaners though them.

Lets savour the win sure, but the Titans are a very dangerous team who will ask more questions than the Dragons did.

I get what your saying but I'm going to enjoy this one for a while longer.

No pressure on Parra we were coming 2nd last at one stage.

The Titans have the worst goal line defence. We should smash them.

PS

They don't like travelling either.

We must be mindful of 1999 .
We beat Newy in week 1 to move straight to GF qualifier.
Storm were absolutely crap v Dragons , but came back to pip Dogs to meet us.
Everyone thought a Parra flogging was a given. Even big Lazzo said as much leading into the match.
And then , Kimmorley took the game by the scruff of the ncek and beat us with three tries from three kicks . including one that Vaealiki should've cleaned up.
We can win this game if the commitment stays as whole as it was today.

a.) We have NEVER beaten them

We've only played them a handful of times... I'm not sure that really matters much

b.) we NEVER travel well with the favouritism tag

I cant see DA letting it get to their heads

c.) short turn-around

That is definitely a big factor, plus the extreme heat during todays game and the amount of defence we had to do. I think DA working them incredibly hard at the start of the year is going to pay off here.

d.) Titans will be hurting after Broncos put the cleaners though them.

True, so we will have to make sure we get a very good start

A few myths in this thread. Titans beat Melbourne in Melbourne.
To finish third had to win several games on the road. Warriors in NZ, Cowboys in Townsville.

Remember the Titans destroyed the broncos in the second half. It was only mistakes and forced off loads which killed 'em in the end.

Titans don't off load much though and after last nights mishaps might be less inclined to do so.

Short turn around worries me the most though.
Titans also won't lie down and die.

Shall be interesting though two teams who were screwed over by the refs going at it. Wonder how the refs are planning on screwing both teams over.

Looking forward to this one though.

Titans dont travel as well as they are at home, but most teams dont. Their biggest issue is they are vulnurable around the edges and we can exploit that but we have to get over the top of them upfront.

Princes kicking game was off on saturday and if that happens again Hayne will have a field day but dont expect it to. Our defence will be muh tighter then the broncos and they wont put 30 odd on us and we should be able to break them out wide to win the game. It wont be a role over but I am expecting a win without fear of a choke... we have no had one game this year where we have been beaten due to fitness so Im not overly worried about the short turn around... just means longer to prepair for the dogs.

NRL would LOVE to have 60-70k @ ANZ for Dogs v Parra.
We will get the rub of the green next week , not like that sh*te we had to put up with today!:sarcasm:

My biggest fear with the Titans is their speed. If we can just defend to the point where their speed is mainly inefective, then they should be done and dusted.

Im thinking 34-14 with Jarryd Hayne getting 3 tries.

The only line break ever where I was annoyed Jason Smith got the ball. All he had to do was draw Robbie Ross and pass to the winger. Instead he took on Ross, tried to throw a pass around Ross' back and ended up getting smashed and knocking on.

the only thing that bothers me is we will no doubt be favourites

I dont really rate the Titans that much and on current form we should beat them in a canter, but then again I never expected to loose 37 zip last weekend

i still don't know why people worry about last weeks result. there is no way in the world that the eels were properly prepared and drilled with a game plan for that game - and it is more than evident in yesterdays game and subsequent result.

there was more bluffing last week than there is at a Texas Hold'em Poker tournament

Sure, they obviously didn't go out to lose, but they didn't go out to throw everything at the Dragons last week but I think they played just how the coach wanted.

EITHER WAY.. THAT IS HISTORY - TOMORROW A MYSTERY :)

Why the concern about the favourite tag? Why ius that a negative thing?
