Bad news Bears

What do the Bears look like?

Is doesn't look like they've landed the fortune of Melbourne with available talent...
They don't have the grass roots and baked in League territory of Titans, Warriors ect..

So how does this new franchise play out long term?

Are we going to see a BOOM straight out of the gate?
What sort of crowds are we expecting?
Are all west Australians going to adopt them straight away?
Are they going to get any Media?
Where are we looking performance wise?

The biggest fortune that has landed on their lap is being labeled the Bad news Bears!
I really hope they take the opportunity to lean into this and make it a battle cry, everyone loves an underdog and that sort of vibe I think makes them the perfect slow burn brand for Perth.
I think it could become a cool niche and grow over time.

What I'm really hoping for is something unique out of Perth, Melbourne has it's own cool feel with the cow bell, the Warriors are like a WWE scene..

If they can get enough of the pommy ex pay community involved... Could we see a crowd in full voice?? A bad news Bears song they all go into?

This your chance PR! Lol

Honestly excited for what it looks like tuning in to Perth every second week.

i think @Red&BlackBear and @Centy Coast have more sense of what Bears will look like.
its evident that @Red&BlackBear thinks west aussie rugby league as a whole needs a massive shot in the arm so we are seeing queensland influence on top of nsw influence that will filter through junior pathways systems, coaching systems, ref systems etc etc

it'll be interesting to see how that influence and assistance filters into west aussie rugba league and then back into bears long term. i think bears might be well served taking a raiders or cowboys approach of knowing theyre away from nrl spotlight and using it to their advantage. i kinda see perth as canberra by the ocean anyways with a bit of townsville north banana bender mentality thrown in.

away teams need to cross the desert to reach the bear cave and once they arrive, theres no where to go expect back through the desert or forward to the wide open ocean. figuratively speaking. make that isolation an advantage.

Nice take!

They could become a hostile territory for opposition sides in that way.

It just completely escapes me as to what it's going to look and feel like. We have this Green seated background with a pack red and black army behind them..
Are they going to be a hostile Balmain like crowd, subdued Cowboys, measured educated Storm.. Mad Warriors..
The Canberra one kinda fits.. they have the Viking clap.

It's going to be it's own thing for sure.
I think the Cowboys and Titans are probably worst case as there's nothing that really stands out about those crowds.

I hope they get on the front foot and find something truly unique.

I don't think they're going to be much more than cellar dwelling for most of the first decade but that can work to an advantage too.
