Went to Melbourne last night. Well worth the 12 years I have been waiting to see em (I couldn't go last time cos I was too young). The set list was about the same as what pennywisealfie listed with my 2 fav songs "American Jesus" and "Atomic Garden" being the highlights! "We're Only Gonna Die..." was also a highlight!

Missed Strung Out and MYC as I was at a going away drinks but I literally walked into the venue and the lights went down and everyone went apesh*t! I was pretty disappointed that Mr Brett didn't make it down for the tour.

A kid made it on stage during You which was a near miracle that he did so undetected! He pinched a set list, jumped around and got on the mic with Greg Graffin to do a chorus, which Greg was more than happy with.

It was at that stage the roadie came and tried to take him away. At the same time one of the merkin security guards at Festival Hall (they have the tempremant of silver back apes, I sh*t you not) came on stage to try and take him away and Jay Bentley put himself and his bass between the kid and the security guard. The guard tried to get at the kid again and Jay just shoved him away, patted the kid on the shoulder and let him stage dive to freedom and the crowd went ballistic! It took the security guard (who I'd seen frogmarch a bloke out in a headlock with his arms pinned) down a peg as the security staff at that place are merkins! Greg just pointed to the vicinity of where the kid stage dived and just said "You... you" with a massive smile on his face.

Now THAT is punk rock!

Still, judging by the list of bands you list as influencing you on your band's myspace I'd say that's a pretty reasonable statement to make.

Which Moron are you?

was simply a stunning gig for the simple fact that BR were there. all they had to was walk out and i was sold.

MYC were awesome and easily shat all over strung out and their boring bullsh*t, matchbook and anything of twisted by design aside.

the reastion BR at the horden was incredible. never seen anythign like it for a punk act.

Im not old enough to have seen Crass (did they ever tour here?), DKs or Husker Du but the following list of bands should make up for my wanky statement.

Fugazi
Black Flag
Buzzcocks
Sex Pistols Filthy Lucre
MC5
Agnostic Front at CBGB!
Sick of It All
ALL
Descendents
Exploited
Hard Ons
Massappeal
Birdman
Celibate Rifles
Against Me
Hot Water Music
and yeah, I have seen NOFX, blink, Pennywise, Guttermouth and all that other sh*t too.
The only band thats still together that I havent seen and really, really want to is Propagandhi, and Social Distortion too.

yeah, well ive seen way more bands and more punk bands then you have:

Bowling for soup
Flogging Molly
New Found Glory
Sum 41
Simple Plan
Blink 182
Green Day
Good Charlotte
The Veronicas
and
AVRIL

i am obviously the authority when it comes to punk music. wtf is a CBGB? sounds like a new style of Cabbage!

FTR, punk music is about as enticing to me as Jazz, i.e. it's not.

But I know about CBGB's because it was the hub of New York punk when punk kicked off. Television, Blondie, the Ramones, Talking Heads etc all cut their teeth there.

Without CBGB's and the like you may be stuck with listening to Brittney...

I think Pennywisealfie was being sarcastic.

Altho i tihnk it was a bit unfair to bring Flogging Molly up amongst the other sh*t

Oh dear oh dear....

Although judging from the bands you've listed as well I'd suggest this is a gee-up!

Any other band in the history of the world should consider themselves lucky to be on the bill with or mentioned in the same breath as Flogging Molly.... a lot of the bands PWA mentioned just don't deserve it!
