Bailey & Scott = Nrl Worst Center Pairing

I have just been looking back over the stats from our four games so far and something stood out that Stu Raper must be blind to. Bailey/Scott are by a mile the worst center pairing for meters gained in the comp and their line break % is piss poor also. Yes I know Bailey is not a center but these stats would not be ignored by a decent coach. I think besides Baileys tackling that he is probably our worst player this year, for mine, he does nothing to warrant his continued selection. With the current rumour of Nige coming back this weekend and Pom getting some game time in PL I hope we see the back of both these guys for the rest of the season. With Gallen, Hilder, Williams and Rednut going great, I would not even have Bailey slotting back in the 2nd row when Nige is back, ask yourself this, what did Bailey do for us last year in the 2nd row....................NOTHING........oh hold on Yeah he did, he starved Nige of the ball all season!........WAKE UP RAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow hold on barrow.
IMO, bails has held the team together defensively.
We have only just lost a few games & I reckon that is baileys defensive play that prevented more points on us. FFS, he made 30 odd tackles the other week at centre!!! & missed none!
As for him taking Nigels ball, well, I reckon nigel is happy with that. Prolonged his career.
We bought a damaged player who has gotten progessively more damaged.
Incredible waste of money IMO.
Turns up for the big games. thats 3 or 4 a year.
You also have the Raper game plan issue. Is that baileys fault?

Bailey's over rated IMO. Show pony can piss off for all I care. Thommo and Williams are going great right now anyway.

At centre Bailey offers f**k all in attack, and at 2nd row he isn't much better.

Well, I do not think Nige would be grateful for getting no ball, I dont think any professional footballer would think like that....but you may be right , that it may have prolonged his career but I dont think he would think like that? Also I did mention in my original post that baileys defence(tackling) is his strong point, I was mainly making reference to his poor attack. Furthermore, I definately do not think its his fault that he is playing center, its that spankers fault who calls himself a coach.

But like it or not, our best centre over the lat 3 seasons has been bailey.
An Australian Rep Centre to boot! But it also says something about the way the Sharks have played the game over the last 3 years (could have achieved the same results using Noddy and 16 forwards).

Since when have we had great attacking centres in our recent history? Even Nige struggles to score out there! Defence is really the best thing our centres can give the team and bailey has been holding it together extremely well, especially against players who are no doubt faster than him.
We may be struggling to score, but we have been keeping teams to respectable amounts...3rd best in the NRL if i remember correctly. Alot better than last year.

Inept.....You are correct stating our defence has kept the scores respectable but, that means sh*t if we dont get the 2 points come end of 80mins. Centers need to be good in attack not just defence.

nothing?..
Well we are yet to be beaten by more than 4 points. That's not a bad stat for a losing team, but it would be a touch worse if not for bailey. Off the top off my head I can recall 3 try saving tackles. Opponents were in bar for his one man tackles.
As highlighted above - and by yourself - his defence is sound. That warrants selection.

His poor attack?
Well take Lance and put him out in the centres. Williams also. Do you think they'd struggle in attack?

I find it frustrating that we have a L/H fast centre and slow winger/ and a R/H slow centre and fast winger. No balance in the attack there, IMO.

Yeah i see where your coming from barrowmundi, but what is the point of our centres scoring 3 tries a game if they let in 5? This is only really in relation to Bailey, as i think Scott has been rather poor.

I think hes done alrite out of position, Id prefer a Bailey whos a solid defender and sh*t in attack over at McGoldrick who is a turnstile in defence and offers nothing in attack
