Ball playing fowards.

Here's another prediction for this year. Lomu and Russo to reproduce that golden era of ball playing forwards that Gav Miller made his own in 87 and 88. If what I have been told is correct then these two are going to turn the tide from last year.

Anyone else excited about seeing big tough ugly blokes throw a pass?

Stevo, once could throw a good ball. I am hoping Raper encourages big Jas to rediscover his offloading skills, when at the right end of the park.

For mine, Stevo lost his offload when the Sharks adopted the infamous flat attack.

Hit it up.
Take the tackle.
Submit to thte defence.
Get a quick play the ball.

And THEN????

NO AND THEN!!!

AGGRRHHHHRRR!!!! HEEEELLLLP!

He's more of a defending type of forward then a big charging at the line style. He is good yes, and he slightly reminds me of McKenna. Not the most skilled bloke on the park, but has a go and puts the hits on.

re russo i spoke to some very keen judges close to the melbourne camp who were absolutely spewing that they had let him go and kept kearns...a big call that.
they tip him to play rep footy sooner than later.
all this is hear say ive not seen him play but the wraps are good from melb and from insiders at woolooware.
fingers crossed.

Galloway has got a great offload on him as well. I saw him throw a couple of miracle balls in Flegg last year that had the whole grand stand gasping.

But it seems he's not going to start the year in firsts.

It does seem that way. I hope that is true too. We don't wantto rush him into the spotlight too much. He'll get snapped up by the Dragoons or Roosters.

Lang was the hand break on forwards throwing passes. His idea was grind up the park and bomb. Glad he's gone. I like these new guys like Galloway, real footie players not gorillas like Martin lang and Nat long, tho i did have a soft spot for longy.

Spot on Carina. The early Lang days were about percentages. No mistakes, hit it up the guts, hold the ball and weaer the opposition down.

I remember being very excited that Stevens was coming as he was a ball-playing forward and when he got here we hardly saw any of it.

Michael Russo was a Schoolboys captain and could be the next big thing from all reports. Sounds like a great acquisition.
