Mate their offer to Colquhoun was phenomenal, and to us Sharks supporters we understand why they did that. The kid has it.
We don't get mentioned much when it comes to team cultures, but the Sharks have something there that the players want to be a part of.
Unfortunately we can't keep them all.
Perth bring in McInnes means they bring in standards that he sets.
To me it's a no brainer.
Colquhoun is another example of a player Perth have chased that is obviously a priority at their current club.
It's stupid and it's making them look weak.
They needed and still need to be smarter where they put their attention and checkbook.

They pumped up the ego of a young up and comer which now makes McInnes feel less important..
Going to be harder to get McInns now.

There's good targets at the Titans that they could have got but the big play for Cambell only makes that harder.

They need to have a more realistic strategy.

Credit for the SL angle though.

I said the other week I wouldn’t mind seeing Croft given another go. He wasn’t treated fairly during his time in the NRL bra
I'm all about this take. Brodie was screwed over while still at the Storm. Cam Smith never let him get in his groove as the #7. He had to prove that he could run the whole show & do jus' as well w'out Cronk there. Don't get me wrong, I'm as big of a Cam Smith fan as a'one. But he really screwed young Croft over because of his own ego. Then Croft ended up at the Bronx & we all know how that panned out over the Seibold era. I definitely think they should take a punt on Brodie, he's only 28 still & who knows, maybe Meninga & Gardiner can get him firing at NRL standard again...

Also I do like the Tyrell Sloan love from a few posts earlier. Does he need a lil' moulding...of course he does. But if Meninga is the man-manager people believe he is, then what's it hurt to give him a shot? It seems like that's the type of leadership he may jus' need to tap into his full potential

Trout would be a good signing, Croft has had one good year in SL. He’s looked bang avg at Leeds since moving there.

Schneider would make aGood hooker potentially, he’s not going to be a starting half in nrl.

I was half expecting bears to sign Tyrone may and Schneider to go back to hull kr.

Please not Tyrone May, he would have to be one of the worst players ever to play NRL.

It doesn't make much sense for Tino to go to Perth, unless the money is too good to be true. Maybe Melbourne or someone who is a chance at winning a comp.

His brother is there

And titans aren’t winning a comp anytime soon either

But yeh would have to be 1.2 million pa minimum

There's an assumption around relationships between brothers.. I don't think it's the deal maker everyone thinks it is.

He's been brilliant last season for Hull KR. He's an interesting character but when on he can open teams up and he has great defence. He won us the CC final with that last minute kick through and played brilliantly in the SL GF>

As a Perth fan I wouldn't have minded him signing, as a Rover fan I'm mighty glad he didnt!

he was too slow when in the nrl and in the premier team in the comp and thats when he was younger.

interesting here that mal says recruitment is a stepped process.

1. negotiating
2. formal agreement
3. Third parties
4. NRL has a 2-step contract lodgement and review process
5. 10 day cooling off

meaning there is potentially players who are secured right now that we wouldn't hear about for another 3-5 weeks. all this seems to again confirm that securing a player vs. announcing a player has a time frame between.

more on croft

averillo and nikorima yet to re-commit to phins

Everytime Tyrone May came off the bench for Penrith in 2021, I held my breath everytime, horrible player.
It was reported the other day that Jake Averillo had started renegotiations with the Dolphins.
